VMLB: is STP needed

Hello,

I'm planing to use VMLB teaming on 4 nics. Two of the NICs will be on a switch, the two others on a second switch. VLAN aggregation (802.1q) will be used to presents several VLAN on all the 4 NICs. Individual VLAN access will be managed by Hyper-V vswitch/virtual nic configuration.

With this scenario, do I need to set up spanning tree protocol (like with SFT teaming) between my 2 switchs ?

Thanx for posting on our site!

I went and asked the folks who are a lot smarter than I in this area. They say that you will likely want spanning tree to prevent the possiblity of a loop between the switches.
