2d FIR filter image filtering time

Hi, 

 

I want to ask, how can I measure image filtering time of 2D FIR filter? 

 

The pixels of image comes from frame buffer.

simulate and measure the time between sop of input and output will give you a good idea. it may be somewhat elastic, so you may see +/- a few clocks on average

how to do the simulation? I want to know what time image filtering takes on a particular system (I'm using Cyclone III starter kit)
