I just updated my Quartus II to 7.1 version,but I got progblem with "Avalon VGA Controller" compoment when addin it into my system, don't know how to slove it ...~_~ (I'm newbie ) this IP is downloaded from the altera website (http://www.altera.com/support/refdesigns/sys-sol/computing/ref-niosii-vga.html) and tested at 6.1/7.0 version,but failed at 7.1 ver. (T︿T) I also need some help with this IP and my DSP Development kit StartixII Edition Board,I don't know how to use this IP correctly on this board,the example included is for Nios II Dev. board....not for this one. I ran into this a little while ago as well. You can download this design to get an updated controller (just copy the vga controller folder over to your design):

Hmmmm maybe it's some strange overseas thing (that happened the last time I posted a link). Try this then:
- Go to www.altera.com
- Click design examples
- Click Nios II embedded processors
- Click Mandelbrot
- Mark as New
- Bookmark
- Subscribe

it still complain some error like this:

Be sure to rip the existing controller out of your design and re-add the new one. There are some settings that SOPC Builder only looks at when the component is dropped into your system so I'm suspecting a refresh issue.

I'm finding evaluation board that can adding more memory by external module , because my board has just total 16MB SDRAM, extremely not enough, to run image processing application is very hard (with OS and apply other apps).../_- Mark as New

Did you get a chance to find a solution? (I am a newbie, using a Stratix1S10 Nios Dev Kit, with quartus 7.1 Web Edition) It is because of Quartus version or because of the VGA controller module? Thank you for your help! :-)- Mark as New
