FFT magecoe with Quartus II

Hi, guys,I'm a rookie now and studying the FFT ip core.I want to analyse the signal such as sin(x)+cos(x) by fft and I don't know where to start. 

I have created the fft ip core by quartus ii named as fft_burst ,and what to do next? 

Do i need to write a state machine to control the signal such as sink_sop,sink_eop,sink_valid? 

After that what should i do friends?:confused:
