Hi,
I need to insert 20 Vendor Specific Infoframes (VSIF), each one has 32 bytes payload length, into a single HDMI Video Frame.
1) Is this possible?
2) How to do this? The Example Design only shows how to insert DRMI infoframes, should I do the same with Vendor Specific Infoframes (VSIF)?
3) is there any restriction for a number of Vendor Specific Infoframes (VSIF), which could be sent/received by the HDMI IP?
Thanks!

Hi Amildm,
Apologize for the delayed response as require some time for communication with the internal team.
Regarding to your question, below is my reply:
1) is this possible? how to do this?
=>The VSI port of Intel HDMI IP represents the VSIF of HDMI spec. Intel HDMI IP only have the fixed VSIF info (24-bit IEEE registration identifier+HDMI_Video_Format+HDMI_VIC or 3D_Structure/3D_Ext_Data), does not support other preserve area extension. Unfortunately this is not possible as the HDMI spec has some preserve areas for other information and Intel HDMI IP cannot transmit more VSIF information.
2) Customer mention The Example Design only shows how to insert DRMI infoframes, do I do the same with Vendor Specific Infoframes (VSIF)?
=>DRMI is transmit in the port aux_pkt_addr/aux_pkt_data/aux_pkt_wr and is different from VSIF.
3)is there any restriction for a number of Vendor Specific Infoframes (VSIF), which could be sent/received by the HDMI IP?
=>At the moment Intel HDMI IP can only transmit 1 VSIF at a time.
Hope this answers your questions.
Thank you.
Best Regards,
ZH_Intel

Does the Core support the 3D meta data extention (VSI extended frame - see below)?

Hi Amildm,
Good day.
Regarding to your question, Intel do not support the 3D meta data extension. There is only 62 bits in VSI filed and no other signals to transfer 3D meta data in HDMI IP core.
Thank you.

Hi ZH_Intel,
Thanks a lot for your response.
As for the HDMI RX (Sink), is it able to receive multiple VSI infoframes within the same Video frame (my previous question was about sending the multiple VSI) ?
Thanks!

Hi Amildm,
Good day.
Regarding to your question, unfortunately, no, it is not able to receive multiple VSI infoframes as the HDMI RX/TX has the same VSI interface.
Thank you.
