Hello everybody,
I'm trying to get the "PCI Express to External Memory Reference Design" running on my Stratix IV GX dev. kit, but no luck. I've already read in this forum that the design from Altera still seams to be for the ES type, and another user posted an updated version which I used to program the device according to the manual. When I boot Windows XP 32 it detects a new hardware, but when I try to install the Jungo driver that comes with the reference design it says the card is not installed althoug a "PCI Device" shows up in Device Manager. output from install.bat: C:\Temp\altpcie_demo_90\JungoDrivers>wdreg -inf .\windrvr6.inf install install: completed successfully C:\Temp\altpcie_demo_90\JungoDrivers>wdreg -inf .\altpcie_perf_demo_e001.inf ins tall Warning: the device (hwid:PCI\VEN_1172&DEV_E001&SUBSYS_E0011172&REV_01) is not p lugged-in. install: completed successfully C:\Temp\altpcie_demo_90\JungoDrivers>pause Press any key to continue . . . From the Altera application note it appears there should be a directory named "altpcie_demo_91", but when I unzip the reference design (downloaded recently) I only have a directory named "altpcie_demo_90". Is there an updated version of the software somewhere or is this just a typo? But maybe this has something todo with my mainboard? In the app. note it says a x1/x4/x8 PCIe slot is required. The FPGA board is inserted into an x8 slot on my "Asus P6T6 WS Revolution". I also tryed a x4 slot, but with the same result. Unfortunately I don't have another mainboard handy, so I can't just try with another one. I would be glad if anybody give me a hint what might be/is wrong! ChrisLink Copied
