I am using Stratix II(EP2S60F1020I4). I'd like to the stratix II fpga send data to computer via 1 Gbps ethernet protocol. The Stratix II is connected to a optical transceiver(AFBR-57R5AEZ) by the serializer/de-serializer TLK3101. Could I use this fiber media as the physical layer?
In terms of percentage, how much resource on the FPGA will be consumed for this purpose? I am a starter in this. Could point me to the mega-core function and the documents that I need?
