Hi !!

The FPGA device can be programmed at any time using the JTAG port (using a .sof file), or by the EPCS1 serial flash device at board power up.

Here my question is

Howmany times we can Store our prog in the serial Flash Device ?? I know Only AS mode is for permanent store of programme but if suppose is it possible to overwrite the prograame or not ??

Thanking you.

I believe that the EPCS devices are certified for 100 write cycles.

Typically, when you are developing a design, you download directly from the PC into the FPGA with the .sif file, check things out, then if you like the design, you make the .pof file, then write it into the EPCS.

I hope this helps.

"■ Re-programmable memory with more than 100,000 erase/program

cycles" - on the first page of EPCS datasheet : http://www.altera.com/literature/hb/cfg/cyc_c51014.pdf (http://www.altera.com/literature/hb/cfg/cyc_c51014.pdf

Overwrite is posible in EPCS. Erase cycle insert automatically before each new write cycle in QuartusII programmer.

I respectfully defer to Stewart Little above.

I had just been looking into some issues with the older 7KS family, and did not do the proper thing and look at the EPCS datasheet for the correct value.

Stewart is correct.
