Hello Spectrumm,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

The maximum resolution supported by the Intel® HD Graphics 620 via HDMI 1.4 is 4096x2304@24Hz as you can check here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/products/96551/graphics/graphics-for-7th-generation-intel-processors/intel-hd-graphics-620.html

4K@24Hz requires a bandwidth of 6.79 Gbps, 1080o @ 120 or 144Hz need a bandwidth of 7.46 Gbps or 8.96 Gbps respectively, so the bandwidth via HDMI is not enough.

On the other hand, the DisplayPort (DP) maximum resolution is 4096x2304@60Hz which requires a bandwidth of 16.99 Gbps; you may be able to get this resolution via DP 1.2 or higher. However, you need to check with the system manufacturer (OEM) as the end result depends on the capabilities that the laptop's motherboard and laptop offer.

Please check the attachments for the bandwidth required for every resolution.

So we can have more accurate information, please provide the following:

1. Run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) and attach the report generated:

  • Open the application, check the "Everything" box, and click on "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel® SSU will take you to the "Summary View".
  • Click on the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
  • To save your scan, click on "Next", then "Save".
  • Use the option under the reply window to attach the report to the thread (Drag and drop here or browse files to attach).

2. Provide the Report for Intel® Graphics Drivers, follow this link

3. Monitor brand and model number along with the cables used to connect them.
