Tried the last 2 AMd drivers, the 3 available intel drivers from my motherboard manufacturer website https://www.asus.com/supportonly/PRIME%20H310M-R%20R2.0/HelpDesk_Download/

+ windows update. Tried 2 windows reinstalls, tried updating driver through device manager by pointing to drivers folder. Had many bluescreens, lockups. Bios is set to use PEG (PCIE) + integrated gpu.

Secondary monitor, connected to integrated on motherboard only works until the monitors go to sleep or it manually turn off extend windows+p . When i turn it back on again its grey or black screen on the secondary monitor, no matter which driver.

Only a pc restart returns the secondary screen to normal. Secondary monitor is connected to motherboard with DVI.

What is interesting is that i made a screenshot of windows when the screen being gray, and the screen is visible. https://i.imgur.com/Zup8yCl.jpg

yet it's grey like this https://imgur.com/eMGWU0j

the window on left side is pushed halfway onto the secondary monitor so it should be visible if it were.

On screenshots its shown https://i.imgur.com/A6M72hx.jpg

Also there is microstutter of mouse on firefox until i disconnected the secondary monitor.

Edit #3

Installed Ubuntu 20 on secondary ssd.

Everything works flawlessly. Sleep mode, monitor sleep, everything.

It is a windows software issue. Look how ubuntu 20 works out of the box. No lags, sleep works, hardware accelerationi works. they clearly don't have the amd/intel driver issue, since they are developed separately from windows drivers. Not sure if i will keep using ubuntu, as i ordered a cable to convert dp to dvi, to use the secondary monitorr eventually.

Also, you could try downloading and installing the latest version of the Intel HD Graphics DCH driver package (v27.20.100.8187). You can download it from here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29554/Intel-Graphics-Windows-10-DCH-Drivers.

I tried to install the driver in the grey screen state (waking it up ends up grey screen. It did not fix the monitor, only a restart would.

So the issue is with a secondary monitor connected via DVI? What is this monitor's model no.? Can you take a picture of the connectors on the DVI cable? [Aside: not sure this has anything to do with issue, just wanted to see how DVI is connecting]

Installing driver would not fix the issue regardless. Did you test sleep in subsequent Windows boot?
