Hi. I know this question has been asked many times, but many are unanswered. I have a Dell Inspiron 1545, Window 7 64 bit. Just yesterday, my laptop kept blacking out, freezes and then unfreeze and this message would pop up saying, "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered. Display driver Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers for Windows XP(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered." It keeps happening around every 15-30 minutes. Sometimes, it totally blacks out. Other times, it unfreeze but the windows are blank. Someone please help me. The display adapter I have is Mobile Intel (R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family." Some people said online to update it and that might fix the problem. I went to the Intel website and updated the lastest one given, but the problem is still here. I've restored my laptop to a certain restore point, but still did not solve the problem. Suggestions and ideas? Thank you a head of time.

Hi Igor,
The driver for your system appears to be out of date. Additionally, there aren't any drivers listed for your system on your OEM's website! Go ahead and try our driver though; http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=21778&lang=eng http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=21778&lang=eng
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks,

It said
Installed driver not tested for this computer.
Get the appropriate driver from the manufacturer.
The installation will be terminated.

The 2932 driver won't work for you because your generation of CPU is from the arrandale/clarkdale series (meaning 1st gen as opposed to 2nd/3rd which would work with that driver). The one I linked for you earlier is a 1st gen driver.
Did you try Right Click -> Run As Administrator for that driver? You may have to uninstall your current driver first as well.

Hi!
I believe I am having a similar problem. After reading this thread I tried to install this driver http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=21776&keyword=152257.exe&DownloadType=Drivers&lang=eng Download Center , but got a message saying "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software."
I have tried updating my drivers as well, but hasn't helped. Do you have any advice? Thanks.

@_andym_: Okay if our driver isn't working for you, I would recommend trying the one provided by your OEM* Here's a link to the download page for your product; http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=3&m=K50IJ&hashedid=ZWrNVPXEbNNTjJZg http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=3&m=K50IJ&hashedid=ZWrNVPXEbNNTjJZg
Choose the option listed under "VGA" with the version # : 8.15.10.2021. Let me know if this works for you.
@Kwesi: You are having the driver not responding error as well? Can you provide for me a copy of your dxdiag? (Start -> Run -> dxdiag -> Save All Information) Copy and paste it here so I can look at it.
Thanks,
-Nic

I still seem to be having issues.
Is there any way to tell if it is a hardware issue rather than a software issue? (I don't think it is, but I'd like to know for sure). Thanks.

Nic,
I installed the driver provided by my OEM (VGA version # : 8.15.10.2021). However, it has not solved the problem with my display driver. Do you have any other suggestions? Should I try installing the latest driver intel has for my system again? Thanks.

Been a while since I been on here. I said I was giving up because nothing was helping. I just wanted to say that it seems worse when I'm on Firefox. I hate using Explorer, but it doesn't cause it to freeze so much. On Firefox I scroll down not even a half an inch and it freezes. It takes a long time to get to the end of the page if it doesn't freeze up completely and I have to unplug it and take the battery out. I also have to run in safe mode with networking if I need to be on for a while and don't want the problems.

Hi Ikyuri. Go ahead and try our latest driver for your system, let me know if it resolves the issue; http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22167&lang=eng http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22167&lang=eng
@Sabrina; Try using the same driver I just provided for Ikyuri. Before when we were troubleshooting we never verified (correct me if I'm wrong on this) that the issues still persist even with our latest. Let me know how it goes.
Thanks,
-Nic
