Epson BT-40 cannot display with Iris Xe Graphics

My Iris Xe Graphics(1135G7) also can't support Epson BT40. I found the ouput reslution for BT40 was fixed to 640*480@60hz , which is not supported by BT40.

The same question

The ouput resolution for BT40 is fixed 640*480. BT40 is treated as the second screen.

Hello @hahawang

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

Our support is only provided in English. We may not be able to translate the screenshots attached to the thread.

In order to review this further, could you please provide us with the following information?

1- We understand that the Epson* BT40 is a "Smart Glasses with USB Type-C". Is this correct?

2- Do you connect the smart glasses to the computer using a straight-through connection with a single cable USB-C to USB-C (the same connector type at both ends)? Or are you using any type of video adapters, converters, or dockings, etc?

3- What is the expected resolution that you are trying to achieve? (For instance, is it 1920x1080 at 60Hz?)

4- Did this configuration (computer + graphics driver version + Operating system version + Smart Glasses) work fine before at the desired resolution? Or are you experiencing this issue since the first day that you have the system/setup? Is the issue occurring with the customized driver from HP*? With the Intel® generic graphics driver? Or with both drivers?

5- If this worked fine before at any moment, were there any recent hardware or software changes that might relate to the point when the issue started? (for instance, Windows®, driver, BIOS, or software updates?).

6- Do you use any customized software or app provided by the manufacturer of the Smart Glasses? Please provide details.

7- Please provide a Report for Intel® Graphics Drivers following the steps on the link. Make sure the Epson BT-40 device is connected to the computer when generating the report.

8- Please provide detailed step-by-step instructions on how to replicate the behavior.

Best regards,

Yes.  https://epson.com/For-Work/Wearables/Smart-Glasses/Moverio-BT-40-Smart-Glasses-with-USB-Type-C-Conne...

2- Do you connect the smart glasses to the computer using a straight-through connection with a single cable USB-C to USB-C (the same connector type at both ends)? Or are you using any type of video adapters, converters, or dockings, etc?

 Using a straight-through connection.

3- What is the expected resolution that you are trying to achieve? (For instance, is it 1920x1080 at 60Hz?)

1920x1080 at 60Hz

4- Did this configuration (computer + graphics driver version + Operating system version + Smart Glasses) work fine before at the desired resolution? Never work.  I have tried intel offical driver and hp drivers, neither one works.

5- If this worked fine before at any moment, were there any recent hardware or software changes that might relate to the point when the issue started? (for instance, Windows®, driver, BIOS, or software updates?).

Never work.

6- Do you use any customized software or app provided by the manufacturer of the Smart Glasses? Please provide details.

Smart Glasses provide an app, but it can work without it.  It can be consider as the second screen. Plug it into usb-c, then It works.  I try this in computer with nvidia, it works.  The phone with  DisplayPort also works.

7- Please provide a Report for Intel® Graphics Drivers following the steps on the link. Make sure the Epson BT-40 device is connected to the computer when generating the report.

attached.

8- Please provide detailed step-by-step instructions on how to replicate the behavior.

step1: plug the BT40

step2:  Button win+p

step3: relipcate the screen.

step4: the computer can find the BT40, but nothing can be seen in BT40

Hello hahawang

Thank you very much for your response and for all the details provided.

The information received by Intel®'s Graphics report from the Smart Glasses devices is only showing the Video Supported Mode of 640 x 480 (60p Hz).

After reviewing this further, this seems to be a compatibility issue; however, you would need to report it first to the Smart Glasses manufacturer since they need to debug this from their side, and then they should contact Intel® directly to supply us with the required hardware for proper investigation. We cannot guarantee 100% compatibility with all devices out there.

For your convenience, here is the link to Epson* Support. We recommend addressing this issue first to their support team. Thank you for your understanding.
