Hello crispysilicon,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

In order to better assist you, please provide the following:

1. Run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) to gather more details about the system.

· Download the Intel® SSU and save the application on your computer:  https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows-

· Open the application, check the "Everything" checkbox, and click "Scan" to see the system and device information. The Intel® SSU defaults to the "Summary View" on the output screen following the scan. Click the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".

· To save your scan, click Next and click Save.

2. Provide the Report for Intel® Graphics Drivers:

3. Is the FINAL FANTASY XV Benchmark the tool that you are using?

4. Was the benchmark working (no crashing) with the same graphic but older driver versions?

5. Are you experiencing other issues with the graphics unit?

6. Are you using a laptop or desktop computer?

7. Have you run all the Windows updates, including optional updates?

Regards,

Thanks for the help Deivid!

1 & 2 are complete and attached.

3. Correct, using version 1.3, as downloaded from http://benchmark.finalfantasyxv.com/na/

4. Rolled back to 20.19.15.4624 which was latest optional windows update driver. No change.

5. No other trouble in other applications I have found.

6. Desktop

7. All up to date.

Try this (Loading screen will be black, so wait for 3D)

ffxv.exe --graphicsIni config\GraphicsConfig_Benchmarklow.ini --displayResolution 640 480 --renderingResolution 640 480 --locale=en --noNvidiaAfterMath

I have tried with another Broadwell HD5500, and also 8 GB system RAM

That demo hogs up to 10 GB RAM. Did you probably disable virtual RAM?

I do have virtual memory enabled, and if I turn on my GTX1080 it runs fine.

Your screenshot exposes 3 different GPU vendors. Maybe Windows and/or the app is just too stupid to handle that?

Open device manager, right-click discrete GPUs and deactivate them.

Then try to start FFXV.

Do no forget to reactivate GPUs afterwards...

It's not the other GPUs. I only added the Radeon yesterday for power supply testing, the GTX was always there but was disabled.

This all started when I saw an article over an Anandtech about igpus and noted they didnt test Iris Pro 6200/5775C with the other igpu in the FFXV bench, even though it appears in the rest of the tests. (https://www.anandtech.com/show/16658/intels-integrated-graphics-minireview-is-rocket-lake-core-11th-gen-competitive/2)

So I pulled out my fast DDR3, fired up the iGPU, disabled the GTX to test this and here we are.

To add onto this, I'm getting really strange behavior in general from the L4.

nodriver.jpg

The latency is all over the place and follows the DDR3 latency when I change the memory speed.

crispysilicon_0-1621350000490.png

I've confirmed it is enabled in CPU-Z and it responds to changes in BIOS as expected.

Hello crispysilicon,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

I do appreciate all the information provided by you and the community members, I was able to check further on this with the details shared and I would like to let you know that based on our website (https://gameplay.intel.com/) your intel graphics do not support Final Fantasy XV as can see in the following link:

Just look for the game in the search bar next to the CPU details. This may be the reason why you can run the benchmark with the Nvidia card and not with the Intel graphics.

For more details about the game compatibility, I recommend you get in contact with the game/benchmark developer team to get more information.

I'm afraid not. It's simply not updated with newer games. I've played Final Fantasy XII to completion, as well as Final Fantasy XV.  It says the same thing about Skyrim Special Edition, which also runs fine.

I did however, make some progress with what I believe is the real issue. The problem is that apprantly access to the eDRAM depends highly on not only the installation of, but the version of, the Intel Management Engine Interface.  It doesn't install correctly with windows update, and you guys no longer host the version compatible with the 5775C. Luckily, I managed to find a copy of the latest version that supported Broadwell and low and behold, I can access the eDRAM again... a little...

pre: MEI

post: MEI

Now here's the REALLY fun one... with MEI with a bad version! (as in, I tested several...)

crispysilicon_1-1621905834897.png

So as you all still provide GPU drivers for this thing, I would really recommend someone reupload the latest compatible version of MEI to the 5775C downloads support page. It is VERY much needed for the CPU to function properly.

I had already reported a deviation between old CPU's and new MEI drivers a half year ago.

Since nobody could help me, i rolled the MEI drivers back and back and back until i found a certified NULL HECI driver.

That's nothing i would recommend to other users, but my old rigs run smooth again...

Hello crispysilicon,

I would like to let you that (as you mentioned) there a not Intel MEI drivers available for this processor from the Intel side either from the motherboard manufacturer. Also, the drivers present in our download center are the ones available, if they are not compatible with this processor the best would be to contact the motherboard manufacturer for customized drivers.

I would like to add, that the reason why this game shows as "unsupported" on our website is because we have not tested it with the Intel graphics for your processor and we do not have recommended settings to provide, in the end, just the game developer can confirm if the game can run using just the Intel graphics. If you can run the game with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080, my recommendation would be to get in contact with the game developer to confirm if it runs with the Intel graphics and/or any recommended settings for the game.
