HD530 doesn't send full range RGB over HDMI - even with EDID override

Has anyone got full RGB working over HDMI to a digital tv using HD530 graphics?

I have tried all the drivers available, as well as lots of suggestions from the internet - e.g. registry tweaks and EDID overrides, all to no avail.

The option to select Full RGB is available in the driver UI but doesn't do anything to the graphics output.

I registered solely to ask this here - it's my last resort before I buy an AMD GPU.

   1. Use the win logo key +R
   2. Type DxDiag then "OK"
   3. Use the "save all the information" option

I have tried all the drivers I could find (up to a couple of weeks ago), none worked. I'm seeing the problem when playing back video content using Kodi (e.g. blu-ray movie discs or Spears & Munsil test video patterns).

I thought it was working fine when I first got it, but I could be wrong. And it's possible there's some change in Kodi, but that also worked fine with a Radeon 5450 on graphics duty.

Thank you for the information provided Cloud you let us know the model of the HTPC and the model of the display/s? To verify with you the video connection is HDMI® peer to peer or is there any dongles or adapters in between? What kind of software are you using to detect the error? Hi,

The HTPC doesn't have a model but it has an ASUS B250M-PLUS motherboard with Intel HD530 iGPU. It has 4GB of RAM.

The display is a Panasonic plasma TV, model PZ80.

I use black clipping/greyscale ramps and other display calibration video to test the output of the HTPC.

I actually use two displays - the second display is an Epson EH-TW3200 projector. The iGPU seems to act correctly with this display, i.e. I can set the HTPC to output Full RGB (the projector recognises this) but I can set the projector to Limited so that the display levels are free of double-conversions and blacks are spot on. With the Panasonic, the iGPU won't output Full RGB at all, irrespective of the GUI setting.

The connection is HDMI via a Yamaha RX-A3050 receiver.

Just yesterday I ran Windows Update on the HTPC (which is running WIndows 8.1 64bit), and now the iGPU does send Full RGB out and the calibration is back where it was. That was the only thing which changed from previously, so I now believe there were two Windows Updates, one which caused the problem and another which corrected the original.

My guess is it is to do with MS updates to counter the Intel processor vulnerability, because at the same time as the colour problem surfaced, my ASUS AI Suite program stopped working, which I've since found out was caused by a MS update (subsequently corrected).
