/thread/121688 ramlawy, thank you for your patience.
We have got some suggestions that would like you to test, please see below:
- Can you try with a direct HDMI 2.0-to-HDMI 2.0 connection? The reason for this is because since we have an adapter in between so there is a chance the HDR metadata might get lost. We have successfully tested this functionality here and got it working with several different displays.
- Just in case, while still using the USB-C-to-HDMI adapter, can you try playing back HDR content anyway? Often times when launching HDR content in Full Screen it should still display correctly.
- Which HDR capable application are you using or trying to use?
Thank you again for your collaboration.

Amy C.

/thread/121688 ramlawy, thank you for your patience.
The issue is with the USB Type-C to HDMI adapter, as it is only HDMI 2.0 and for HDR to work it has to be HDMI 2.0a. You can check the specification at the site: http://www.belkin.com/us/p/P-F2CU038/.

Hello ramlawy,
Thank you for your response,
I understand that you are still experiencing issues with the HDR and your system.
Regarding this, I would like to recommend a few things. First, please update the graphics driver of your system. You can download the latest driver for your graphics controller from the link below (Make sure to download the ".zip" file):
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27680/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10?product=126789 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27680/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10?product=126789
Once downloaded, please follow the steps below:
1 - Unzip the file to a designated location or folder.
2 - Right-click Windows Start icon and open Device Manager.
3 - Click Yes when prompted for permission from User Account Control.
4 - Expand the Display adapters section.
5 - Right-click the Intel® graphics entry and select Update Driver Software.
6 - Click "Browse my computer for driver software".
7 - Click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer".
8 - Click "Have Disk".
9 - Click "Browse".
10 - Access the designated location or folder, and access a folder called "Graphics".
11 - Select the .INF file (Information file).
12 - Click Open, then click OK, and finally click Next. Drivers are now being installed.
13 - Reboot your computer
After the reboot, check the HDR again and see if there is any changes. Something else you can try is to contact Belkin* (Manufacturer of the adapter) and check if there are any drivers or firmware available to download to help address this issue.
Finally, you can use the following "pdf" as reference of what is needed in order for the HDR to work with Intel ® Integrated Graphics, refer to pages 7 and 8:
https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/graphics/HDR_Intel_Graphics_TechWhitePaper.pdf https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/graphics/HDR_Intel_Graphics_TechWhitePaper.pdf
I hope this helps.

Hello Ramy,
I have been searching for an adapter (DP-to-HDMI) that can do HDR, however to date I haven't been able to find one.
As soon as I get my hands on one that tests out fine I'll share it with you. If any other person finds this thread and can reference one adapter they know works, please go ahead and let us know.

Hello Ramy,
I apologize for replying until now. I do not have the adapter you mentioned so I cannot check whether it works for HDR or not.
However I looked at the technical details provided on the Amazon listing and it doesn't mention anything about HDR. More so, some of the reviewers are calling out specifically that it doesn't support HDR. See screen shot below:
