I am using an i5-7200U Surface Laptop, which drives a 1920×1080 monitor, set at 120 Hz. The HD 620 is only managing to output 60 Hz (up to 70 when using EDID overrides). This is a significant downgrade from the 120 Hz that was being output by the HD 4400 present in my much older Surface Pro 2, using the same cable and monitor. Is there a driver patch coming to Kaby Lake mobile graphics, or is there another workaround possible?

Just to let you know, in the following link you will be able to confirm which is the max resolution supported by the Intel® Core™ i5-7200U processor depending on the video port being used, for HDMI 1.4 will be 4096x2304@24Hz:
