I have recently bought a Miracast device for my TV and I want to stream some content from PC to TV.
In order to connect to with WiDi and Install the WiDi Drivers, I've read that I need Newer Driver for Intel HD Graphics.
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate, I have i7 4790K, I have currently GTX 1080 running as main graphic hooked up to 2 monitors, and Intel HD 4600 as (disabled so far) secondary.
I enabled that yesterday from the BIOS as IGD and there was option in BIOS to select what memory it shares... I selected 512MB - it was max option. (I don't know if all of this is relevant but I want to give u some info)
Now these are my concerns.
From my previous experience of 3-4 Laptops and PC's owned... usually when I right click on Desktop I have "Graphic Properties" that is coming from Intel in the menu. Now I don't. No idea why.
When I open Nvidia Control Panel.. and go over to Global Settings... I usually have "Prefered Graphic Processor" or something. Now I don't.
I tried EVERYTHING to update the driver.. with the newest win64_153631.4414, older win64_153628.4332 drivers.. and it won't upgrade from 10.18.14.4414 no matter what I do.
This is what I tried so far:
1. I have tried "Upgrade Driver" from the Device manager, extracted the Zip, pointed "Have Disk" location... and it's saying "Your Drivers are Up to Date" while clearly they are not.
2. I have made Clean Boot with everything except windows services running, Uninstalled the drivers + Software completely, restarted. I got the Message "Sorry Windows couldn't install this device - No driver Found". I right clicked in Device Manager, found the drivers, installed them .. and I still got 10.18.14.4414 version even tho the zip downloaded, contains the Newest Drivers only. Tried with Newest and with Older. Still same.
3. I went to System32... gave myself Owner Permissions... deleted from Driver Repository the IGN folders... uninstalled again together with software... restarted to Clean Boot... reinstalled again.. no luck.
4. I downloaded the Intel Driver Update utility. It shows that I have installed Version "10.18.14.4414" and that Newest is 153631.4414 ... I press Download / Install.. it won't change them, even after screen blinking, restart done, etc.
I've spent over 20 hours troubleshooting before I ask help from you... but I am kinda desperate.. I don't want 70Euros to go down the drain because I can't install drivers for the HD 4600.
Another quick question:
In order to install the Widi what other drivers I need to check for updating? Intel Chipset, Intel HD Graphics, ... ?
Since I am doing YouTube / Live Streaming for Living, and this is quite urgent matter for me, to make everything functional, I appreciate all of your help.
Thank you Very Very Much, for your support, in advance.
P.S. Sorry for any English errors in my text, It's not my mother language

Hello UmrenTV ,
Thank you for the detailed explanation of your issue!
I recommend checking the following:
1. This setup video for WiDi: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUN8rbhfShg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUN8rbhfShg
2. The driver you have installed 4414 is the latest update utility can be ignored
3. To better understand why this is the latest version, please check: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005654.html http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005654.html
4. One thing you can do to try to setup WiDi is, remove the external GPU, perform the setup and driver installation, then try to use it
5. Add the external GPU (GTX 1080) again and test it again
6. Please make sure you have the integrated graphics enabled at BIOS level (Intel HD Graphics 4600)
7. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your external GPU (GTX 1080)
Please let me know how it goes.
Regards,
Esteban C

Hey!
Thanks for reply ... I was celebrating the holidays... I didn't had the chance to reply when I saw urs. Well I would have to test this out these days... and see by removing the External VGA (1080) if I will be able to make it work. But if it's issue keeping the thread open, and u have nothing else to add as advice... I wouldn't mind if u close it, if that is why you've asked me the last last question
Thanks a lot so far for the replies... I will try ur advices above when I get back home, and we'll see if it gets fixed.
Cheers and Happy Holidays / New Year!

Hello
I cannot upgrade my graphic driver from 10.18.14.4414 to 15.36.31.4414. I used Intel Driver Update Utility ( IDUU ) and it found I need to upgrade but it could not upgrade it properly. I ran IDUU as admin but problem is still. So IDUU download the driver install it but when it installing 15.36.31.4414 driver in Install appl it shows installition of 10.18.14.4414 ( pic ). And after restart driver the same 10.18.14.4414.
I tried many options to instal the newest 15.36.31.4414 driver...
1st is through Device manager I uninstalled the old driver, restarted laptop and manually installed the new driver but appl installed again old version 10.18.14.4414
2nd was I installed the new version and before the restart I deleted old folders igdlh64 from Windows/System32/DriverStore/FileRepository/ and after this restart and... this way did not help me as well
Could you please say how to upgrade the old driver 10.18.14.4414 to the newest 15.36.31.4414
Thanks

Hello mrKinfdlyCat,
If you have Intel HD Graphics 4600, please download the drivers below, .zip version
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26229/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-15-40-4th-Gen-?product=81496 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26229/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-15-40-4th-Gen-?product=81496
Then proceed with these steps to install the drivers:
Once the drivers are extracted.
1. Access the device manager and look for display adapters
2. Right click and select update driver for Intel HD Graphics 4600
3. Select "Browse my computer for driver software"
4. Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
5. Click on "Have Disk" and find the .zip driver folder downloaded
6. Go to "Graphics" folder and select the .inf file and hit open then ok
7. Select Intel HD Graphics 4600 under "model" and hit next
Please let me know how it goes.

Hi
Thank you very much for your reply
Unfortunately the problem is still. I noticed you gave me a link with driver for Windows 10 but I have Windows 8.1 64 bits but its not a problem. I found the right driver here https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25978/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-1-15-36- Download Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows 7*/8.1* [15.36] and here https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26544/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-1-15-36-?v=t Download Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows 7*/8.1* [15.36] and I tried all of them and your as well https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26229/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-15-40-4th-Gen-%3Fproduct%3D81496 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26229/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-15-40-4th-Gen-?product=81496 . zip files. Hello mrKinfdlyCat,
Please make sure you have a processor with Intel HD Graphics 4600, the drivers provided are compatible with that adapter.
Depending on the model of your processor, you can check this in ark.intel.com
1. Access ark.intel.com
2. Type the model of the processor (i.e; i5-4570)
3. Look for Graphics specifications
4. Check the adapter you have
About the installation of the drivers, please note the file you require to look for is inside the graphics folder, within the folders in the main folder of the driver.
Here is a video of the process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1KzoQDjMMY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1KzoQDjMMY
Here is the file to be used:
This is the folder that contains the file:
Hope this can be of help, please let me know how it goes.

Hello
Thank you for help
I did how you said and recorded a video with my step-by-step installition to avoid any mistakes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUcOo4mRxAo i7 4810MQ Intel HD 4600 - YouTube .
So first I checked my specification here... http://ark.intel.com/products/78937/Intel-Core-i7-4810MQ-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_80-GHz?q=i7%204810mq http://ark.intel.com/products/78937/Intel-Core-i7-4810MQ-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_80-GHz?q=i7%204810mq
Second I downloaded the driver here ... zip file for Windows 8.1 64 bits... https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26544/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-1-15-36- Download Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows 7*/8.1* [15.36]
The plus is I got now the better driver than before... I had 10.18.14.4414 from 23/03/2016 but when I tried to install by new way the latest driver 15.36.33.4578 from 25/01/2017 driver after instalation I got 10.18.14.4578 from 04/01/2017
I dont know what I do wrong?

Hi,
The version you have is the correct driver.
Maybe this can clarify your doubt: http://www.intel.my/content/www/my/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005654.html http://www.intel.my/content/www/my/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005654.html
Basically, the last 4 digits are the ones to be checked.
Thanks,
Esteban C

Thank you Esteban for help
I read this topic before but could not understand it because pics was not upload for me at those time and now ( pic ).
May I ask you one more question. I have a motherboard Clevo P15SM-A/SM1-A with processor i7-4810MQ Windows 8.1 64 bits.
And I read I should to install latest driver for processors as well so i started to look at my driver details and what I found I am not happy with that.
My processor release date was in 2013, I bought it in 2014 but the date of processor driver is 2009 and version is 6.3.9600.16384 ! How it is posible?
I saw on Clevo web site and did not find any driver for processor. I could not find any driver for processors on manufacturer web site who built the notebook. I could not find any drivers in internet by version nr and hardware ID. No at all even old driver what I have now.
Maybe you know some database with drivers for any processors? Intel Update Utility did not show driver.
Is the way to update my processor driver?
Thank you very mauch

Here is a screenshot of the MS driver version:
When you mean the driver of the processor, is this because you are getting a yellow triangle in the device manager? if so, could I have a screenshot of your device manager where this is visible?
Thanks,

I mean processor has a driver ( supported software ) to get properly work and speed and I worry I have very bad driver for my processor. And I don`t know where to get the latest drivers for my processor.
Thanks

Hello mrKinfdlyCat,
I understand, the devices that are handled or help the processor are the ones that have drivers, like chipset or the graphics adapter inside the processor, but the processor per se doesnt have a "processor driver", it works together with the other components which do have drivers, like the ones mentioned.
This driver from 2009 that you mentioned, where are you seeing this? It would be great to have a screenshot of this.
Please let me know.

I understand!
I have the same on my workstation, no need to worry about the "processor drivers"
About the other devices, if you are not getting issues related to those devices, (mainly audio) you shouldn't worry, those are generic adapters that should work fine with the drivers installed.
