Installer exit code 8

Hello,

I just installed DSA on a fresh install of Windows 11 22H2.

After restart it notified me of an update:

So I downloaded the update and started the installation and got this:

Screenshot 2023-04-07 195730.png

I deleted the download from C:\ProgramData\Intel\DSA\Downloads and refreshed the page, downloaded the update again and got the same error.

So I grabbed the DSA uninstaller from Intel® Driver & Support Assistant Uninstaller and repeated the whole process and got the same error again.

Any ideas please?

If you have a 6th gen/skylake processor, you are currently out of luck:

Now you are in uncharted territory.  IDSA has enough trouble with updates as it is!<G>

Hi, I am also facing the same issue. I am facing it with my graphics driver. Snippets below,

DSA also doesn't scan for new drivers anymore after this issue. It always shows scanning failed due to some or the other error.

Kindly suggest how I can fix this, as I have tried clean installation multiple times, and it does not work. Please assist at the earliest.
Thanks

Hello @Jean_Intel

Right now, without doing anything, DSA tells me I'm up-to-date and there's no update for my hardware !!!

So problem is solved in the most innovative way !!

Thank you very much!!

@Jean_Intel

I just upgraded to Windows 11 and the exact same update installed successfully!

The error said update is not compatible with my Hardware not OS!

Well done Intel!

Hello Omid-Shojaee,

We are glad to know that you have been able to install the latest driver for your system. We would like to further investigate this problem; however, to further investigate the problem, we require the system information requested before:

  • Provide me with the zip file with the  Intel® DSA Folders. Take a look at the article "How to Obtain the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (Intel® DSA) Folders?" for further information about the methods you can follow to get the folders.
  • Create a report using the Intel System Support Utility (Intel SSU)
    • Open the application and click "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel SSU will take you to the "Summary View."
    • Click on the menu where it says: "Summary" to change it to "Detailed View."
    • To save your scan: click "Next"; then "Save."

Best regards,

Hello I'm having trouble too,
I even rolled back to windows 10 and I'm still having issues udating or atleast making sure my CPU drivers are up to date
including making sure the intel driver software are installed or reinstalled,

Intel Driver & Support Assistant won't help you saying No supported driver or software updates available for your system.
it won't even bother checking if its at least up to date.

Windows Update also won't help you.

This type of support on Devices and Drivers is unacceptable
when you can't make sure Drivers are up to date even if it is supported or unsupported.

It's incredibly frustrating when the burden falls on consumers to jump through hoops just to keep their devices functional.
Ideally, companies should ensure their products remain compatible and supported for as long as possible.

Unfortunately, the tech industry often prioritizes rapid innovation and profit margins over long-term support,
which can leave users in a tough spot. This isn’t fair, It's a systemic issue that needs addressing by the industry as a whole.

It Promotes E-Waste and forces the consumer to pay or risk having no support or compatibility.
