Intel 770 uhd loses hardware acceleration in Chrome & Edge browser after idling overnight. Stutters

sorry, I was away for a few weeks. Reopening the existing issue....

Please refer to this thread again for all the supporting diagnostics...

https://community.intel.com/t5/Graphics/Intel-770-uhd-loses-hardware-acceleration-in-Chrome-browser/m-p/1343279

Note, I am now running the latest 1191 intel graphics driver. My setup is the same: only 12600k + z690 motherboard. uhd770, Windows 11.

Here is a demo video of what I mean....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIADdzWFomo

see the dropped frames in the youtube stats even on 480p videos. Restarting the browser fixes the issue temporarily.

To replicate this issue, you must keep chrome and edge open overnight, and turn off the monitor overnight, or for several hours should be sufficient.

Sometimes hardware acceleration might not be lost in the following session. In this case, use the browser briefly, and turn off the monitor again to simulate overnight idle.

In the next session, you might finally observe the dropped frames in the youtube video stats, and the choppy pan/scan in google maps.

When you restart the browsers, then google maps runs smoothly again, and youtube videos stop dropping frames.

The point is, this hardware acceleration loss happens consistently, and affects both Chrome and Edge.

1. Was the issue present with any previous processor? If so, what was the model?

2. Was the issue present with the none BIOS beta version?

3. Try with the latest Intel driver"

- Driver: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19344/intel-graphics-windows-dch-drivers.html

- Steps: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000057389/graphics.html

4. Was the issue present with Windows 10?

5. Was the issue present out of the box?

1.  Not in my experience. I came from a 6700hq + gtx1060, which uses the nvidia gpu all the time. no Optimus. no problems there.

2.  yes. bios version does not affect this behavior.

3.  I am using the latest 1191 driver.

4. I never tested windows 10.

5.  Yes, this is a clean installed system. Installed from windows 11 iso, fresh drivers, etc.
