Intel Arc B580 low fps

I have an Intel Arc B580 Limited Edition that I just bought recently and it has a low performance in a game called FiveM. I heard that the card has a poor performance on lower DirectX versions like the 10,11 and that's probably the case with me because it can only use DirectX 10,10.1 and 11 and I'm trying to find a solution to it. (I play the game with DirectX 11 because that's the highest)

Ram: 32GB (3000MHz)

Motherboard: Asus TUF B550 Plus

CPU: Ryzen 7 5700X (used on 4.0 GHz)

GPU: Intel Arc B580 Limited Edition

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit 22H2

I tried to reinstall windows, used DDU and reinstalled the graphics driver (also deleted the old nvidia driver). I can't come up with anything to solve my performance issue with FiveM. The funny thing is that it only uses 30-50% from the GPU and CPU which is intresting in itself but my fps is not stable. I have about 90 fps but somtimes it goes down to 50 and then after a few seconds it goes back up but the GPU and CPU usage is always around 30-50% and I don't know why it can't use every resource in the GPU or CPU. And this only happens in FiveM (maybe it happens in other games that doesn't use DirectX 12 but I haven't tried it yet). And the ingame graphics is pretty low so I should be able to have 150-200 fps. (It's not overheating because everything is under 80 celsius at all times.) Sometimes the game freezes then crashes with DirectX error I'll provide a picture about it.

Can someone help me with this ?

Hello Mike6464,

Thank you for posting in the community. I just want to confirm, is FiveM a mod for GTA 5? Additionally, when playing the vanilla version of GTA 5, do you experience the same low performance issues? Lastly, are you using the latest driver?

Hi. Technically FiveM is an extension in which you can use the GTA 5 game itself to go to different servers in which you can roleplay, fun ect. And yes, playing the GTA 5 Legacy I still experience these issues. In GTA 5 Enhanced it's working well but there I can't set DirectX version like in the Legacy version. My graphics driver is the latest I think but it says the version is: 32.0.101.6653

Hello Mike6464,

Since you've recently purchased the B580, I have a few follow-up questions to help address the issue. Please answer the following:

  1. Did your system have a previous GPU? If so, did you use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to completely remove the previous graphics driver?
  2. Have you tried testing with different drivers?
  3. Have you set GTA 5 to use DirectX 12?
  4. Does the low performance affect all servers you visit, or is it specific to one?
  5. Could you share the in-game display and graphics settings you're using for this game?

Additionally, to gain a comprehensive understanding of your system, please use the System Support Utility (SSU). This tool will generate a text file compiling all your system information. You can follow the instructions at this link and send the text file here. How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows

Hi.

1. Yes I had a previous GPU and as I used DDU.

2. I haven't tried using different drivers but I can try some of the older GPU drivers.

3. There is no option for DirectX 12 in GTA 5 Legacy or FiveM so I can't.

4. The low performance affects all servers.

5. I'll send some pictures about it.

Also the SSU generated text file is below.

There was a new GPU driver that just came out yesterday. I think it solved the crashing problem which is good enough for me. So thank you for your fast replies.

Right now the only problem I can see is that the game doesn't use every resource available in the PC but that might just be one issue of the game. And sometimes the GPU usage spikes up to a 100% for one second while ingame but that doesn't really affect the gameplay although it's annoying to me 😄

Hi. Yeah you can close it.

Although it should be noted that while playing for long hours the intel graphics software and/or the driver might crash. I don't know what causes it but i hope the developers find out and hopefully fix it.

And again thank you for your help Dhanniel.
