Intel Arc Control requests permission to start every time I boot up

Installed a new Graphics driver and Intel Arc Control came along with it.  Don't mind that, but every time I boot up or restart, Intel Arc Control asks permission to "make changes to your computer."  Should this be happening?

NoroiRonin's solution seems to work well.  Created the Task, rebooted, and Task Manager says Intel Arc Control is running.

You have to remember to go to Settings > Apps > Startup and turn OFF the Intel Arc Control startup switch or you'll keep getting the popup.

Kudos and thanks for finding a good solution.

Yes that's correct, and it's how Arc Control is working at the moment unfortunately.

In the meantime I've just removed it, and I'm using the Intel Graphics Command Center app instead that the IGP's use on my A770, that seems to have all the basic options with no extra fluff.

Uninstalling Intel Arc resolved the problem of a prompt at Windows start-up resolved the problem for me. Windows works the same way as far as I can see after the uninstallation.

I'm sorry.  I haven't the faintest idea how to capture a video of a screen while the system is starting.

I don't know if it will help, but here is a photo from my phone of the startup dialog box.

I did see the previous post. Looks like it's you problem, not mine. Just wanted to know if I needed to do something about it. You can close the case.

I just uninstalled it to remove the prompt at system start. It isn't necessary software.

When the app asks to make changes to your computer, that's just the operating systems way of asking if the app can launch with administrator privileges. It's just part of the launch process of the app, to ensure it can access the system info or what not that's hidden behind admin privileges. It's not harmful, but as other users have done, it's fine to uninstall the software if you're not using it, unless you're using an Intel GPU, in which case I'm pretty sure Arc Control is just Intel's equivalent to competitors apps such as GeForce Experience or AMD Radeon Software, and might impact the quality of life regarding a system running on their GPUs.

@zxphvr,

Not harmful, but sure annoying. 🤣🤐,

Perhaps there is a way to stop Arc control from starting up automatically rather than just uninstalling it?

GeForce Experience is not asking permission every time it starts up automatically. Should be the same for Arc control.

This stops it from starting automatically. That solves the problem with the annoying message, without uninstalling the App.

Uninstalling or not running it are effectively the same thing. GeForce doesn't give me these prompts so its installed, Arc Control has been uninstalled and my laptop runs the same without it as it does with.

Thanks.  I will give that a try.  Intel should correct the code.
