I have a new build. Its a 3770k with an Asrock Fatal1ty Professional and 16Gb of Mushkin memory.
The computer has been working great all week. Then all of a sudden today after switching my display via a button on the front from VGA to DVI between my old rig and my new rig the screen no longer displays on my new rig. I also have 2 keyboards on my desk and may have hit a hot key and changed something, I'm not sure.
I have tried Windows Key + P to change to projection mode and get nothing.
After rebooting the screen works until after the windows 7 loading icon disapears then the screen goes into power save mode.
When booting into safemode the screen works fine.
When changing the resolution and then booting back out of safemode the screen does not load.
When deleting the Intel HD 4000 driver and restarting then the screen will load.
After reinstalling the Intel HD 4000 Driver the screen nolonger loads.
I don't know why its doing this but I am no longer able to use the HD 4000 with my intel driver installed. Which renders onboard video pretty much useless for anything but basic functions.
I have tried deleting and reinstalling the driver and also the monitor and its driver as well.
Nothing seems to work.
Is there some kind of keyboard shortcut to change display ports? I'm currently on HDMI and my board has both HDMI and displayport. I have no way to test if its working with the display port. Also I am using an HDMI to DVI cable already.
This is just really odd seeing how everything was working preffectly fine then all of a sudden, nothing just blank.
I can hear the computer load, even the sound. I can even type and login, but I'm unable to see anything.
Also I have tried to set onboard video as default in my bios and still nothing will load as long as the Intel HD4000 driver is installed.
I have tried two different drivers versions, they both do the same thing.
Any suggestions would be greatfull thanks.

Hi
It sounds like the driver has switched or lost track of which monitor is the default, so once it loads in Windows you lose the display.
Try removing your display completely and booting into Windows and try and log in (blind). Having no display connected might just get the drivers to re-evaluate what they need to do. Try plugging in your display once Windows is logged in, it should get detected and hopefully the drivers wil switch back to it.
If that doesn't help, try booting into safe mode, then from the start menu type msconfig, go to the Startup tab and remove the tick from the Intel Graphics application, then try rebooting in normal mode and see if it is okay now. If it is okay it will at least be running with the correct drivers and not in safe mode anymore, but you have lost the Intel utility to change settings, probably no bad thing.
The problem you have with uninstalling and reinstalling the HD driver is during uninstall it isn't clearing its settings, so once the driver goes back on, it picks up the same settings which results in it failing to send the video to your monitor.
If you are comfortable in doing so, uninstall the HD driver then browse the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software and see if you can find any entries for the Intel graphics, if yes rename the key (you could delete but renaming gives you the option of putting it back as it was). Also look in HKEY_LOCAL_USER. Then reinstall the driver and reboot.
Regards
Phil

FYI to ALL, mainly the Intel folks:
As previously mentioned, I'm using the Intel DH77BE board, 8G RAM and HDMI to a Panasonic plasma TV 1920x1080. The HTPC never sleeps and it always works. Hope I'm not jinxing myself here...
The board correctly identifies the device on HDMI whereas a DVI connected monitor was not detected, defaulted to VGA and would give no display.
Good Luck

Hi all,
I agree with Martin Maat, Robert you are beginning to sound like a novice; wiggling cables, using cable adapters after you specifically asked people reporting not to use them, and finally this I find hard to believe, you haven't been able to see any problems in over 20 systems? There are a handfuls of systems on this thread reporting on the same 'no display' problem, no-one here is joking about this problem it does actually exist. Maybe Intel needs to pull in your supervisor to help you as you clearly aren't making much progress on your own.
In my case;
Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V LX Socket 1155 VGA DVI HDMI 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard (most recent BIOS)
Processor: i3 3225 3.3GHz Socket LGA1155
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1866Mhz Memory Kit CL9 1.5V
Monitor: Standard definition VGA monitor (that has always worked and works on bios) and now a HD LCD TV (no brand) that has VGA and HDMI.
Operating system: Win 7 64 bit (clean install)
Cables: Straight VGA and HDMI (no adapters)
Result: No display when I use the VGA on either monitor or TV after installing Win 7 drivers, but will work off HDMI. Cable are fine as both have been checked elsewhere.

Guys just telling you like it is. The issue cannot be replicated on our side so far. As for the cable "wiggle" , just passing on observations on the behavior of some cables. On the ASUS Ultrabook, the only way to connect an HDMI cable is to use the mini to HDMI adaptor.

Intel should buy 2-3 systems from people with this issue. Long-term probably cheaper than searching around for nothing if they cannot reproduce it.

Hi all,
I just wanted to communicate that I have the same symptoms with HD Graphis 2500 (i5-3450 Desktop).
I have tested a lot of workarounds posted here, but was not successful to get a signal on the DVI port (except during BIOS and Win7 load phase). I have spend already so much time now, that I decided to put my old PCIe graphics card back into the PC and hope for Intel to improve the driver so that I can remove it later.
As a second option II also try to contact my dealer and ask hin whether I can change my brandnew hardware against an AMD set of board + CPU with integrated graphics. I am an Intel fan and probably will stay (3 PCs and 2 Notebooks), but I have the impression that HD graphics driver issue may take some time for resolution ...
Most important details in my installation:
i5-3450
Asrock B75 Pro3
Monitor/TV http://de.lge.com/ LG M228WA (resolution below full HD)
1,8m HDMI -> DVI(18+1) cable from equip
no adapters / switches, just HDMI port on the display and using DVI port from mainboard.
Win7 Pro SP1 x64 - new installation
Latest Intel Driver for Chipset, offered by mainboard producer installed first
2 Win7 driver versions testet so far
Rergards from Germany,

I have the same problem. DVI works but HDMI doesn't. I downloaded the .cab for 2752 using the link above, used 7-zip to extract it but can't figure out how to install it. What is setup.exe.mui?

Thanks Yups!
I am pretty sure that I have not tried 8.15.10.2752.
So you are saying that there is a good chance that this version will do the job?
I have tried 6.14.10.5400 (Asrock v14.51.1.64.5400) ...
... and a second one, which is on the CD which comes with the mainboard - I can check later when I am at home.
I have not yet tried the Win8 (the inf file text says that it shall also work with Win7 version provided from Arock as beta: 9.17.10.2817 (Asrock v15.28.2.64.2817)
There are only 3 different version provided by Asrock for my board.
When searching the Intel sites there are additional versions but I cannot find 8.15.10.2752.
After spending 3 nights on this issue, I really feel like giving the gardware back to the dealer or just insert my old PCIe card and check for new drivers in lets say 6 months.
When I get in a very good mood than I maybe give it another try. I already started using an image which is based on a clean install of Win7 and the latest chipset driver. Before I put any HD Grphics driver on my system again I will make sure to have an image again, thus safing my installtion work ;o)

8.15.10.2752 helped 1-2 people in this thread. 6.14.10.5400 is a Win XP driver, it can't work on Win 7.

Hello
I would like to share my set up if it helps (same mobo as user tb2000), as I am seeing a similar issue. I have tried removing one of the DIMMs in case it was the MRC 1.4 vs 1.5 issue but this has not resolved the problem.
Briefly, the symptoms are:
a) VGA works fine, always, with any versions of the HD4000 drivers I have tested (currently 8.15.10.2712)
b) With the generic/stock Microsoft W7 display drivers in place, DVI output works fine (but no hardware acceleration so no Aero)
c) Once I install any Intel HD4000 drivers, DVI output works during BIOS and W7 load screens and turns off when the W7 login screen should appear (which i presume is when Aero kicks in)
The mobo has Display Port and HDMI but I haven't tested these.
Hardware as follows, i figure it's best to give too much info rather than too little:
Gigabyte SKT-1155 Z77X-UD3H Motherboard - using latest F17 BIOS
Intel 3rd Generation Core i5-3570K CPU (4 x 3.40GHz, Ivy Bridge, Socket 1155, 6Mb L3 Cache, Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0)
Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Vengeance Memory Two Module Kit
OCZ VTX3-25SAT3-120G 120GB Vertex 3 SATA III Internal 2.5 Inch SSD
Western Digital 2TB SATA 6Gbps Power Saving Internal Hard Drive OEM - Caviar Green
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium with Service Pack 1, 64-bit, English, 1 Pack, DSP OEI (PC)
Jeantech 600w PSU JN120F-600-AP12V2
Dell SP2309w monitor
I'm using generic/unbranded DVI:DVI and VGA:VGA cables (no adapters/dongles etc)

Hi,

- Kingston DDR3 HyperX 1600MHz 8GB Kit w/2X HyperX 4GB DDR3, CL9-9-9-27, 240pin
- Intel® Core i5-3570K ProcessorSocket-LGA1155, Quad Core, 3.4Ghz, 6MB, Boxed w/fan
- WIN 7 64bit
Same issues as everybody else. Works on VGA, dead screen on DVI/HDMI. Updated to newest drivers, updated bios. nothings helps. Is there a solution for HD 4000 insight?

Hi - I tried a different DVI cable I had lying around, and now my DVI works. The load sequence is now
a) BIOS load visible over DVI is ok
b) Windows loading screen over DVI is ok
c) the signal cuts our momentarily (maybe a couple of seconds) and the screen goes black
d) Windows login screen appears over DVI ok.
I can reboot, turn off/on... all seems working fine.
The DVI cable i had originally tried is one i have been using for years through another PC with no problems, and that same DVI cable had shown a signal during BIOS/Windows load screens, and cut out when the login screen should have appeared.
I'm not an electrical engineer but perhaps the quality (by which i probably mean resistance) of the cable is a factor here? Perhaps the strength of the signal from the port is right at the margin of what will cause the display to work/not work.

i5 3570K
Asrock Z77 Pro4-M
2*4GB Corsair Vergeance 1600 CL9
Win7 prof 64
I've tried a lot of drivers. Always the same:
- BIOS load visible over DVI is ok
- Windows loading screen over DVI is ok
- the signal cuts and the screen goes black
The screen is an EIZO S1910. It works fine over DVI with my old Computer on an ATI-Graphik.

An update, just to recap:
Gigabyte z77x-udrh
i5 3570k
Monitor: Asus ve-247h
8gb corsair vengeance 166mhz
Tried to install windows 8 x64 Enterprise, impossible, the OS installs, but after the first reboot it gets stucked and the display starts changing input sources until it says installation had an error and must be restarted (worked fine in other pc), tried twice and couldnt get it to load the first time after installation, it seems windows 8 has the same or a similar driver pre-loaded and as soon as the first start, it kicks in and make it impossible to load.
Also tried W7 Ultimate x64 fresh install using the windows 8 drivers, it loaded succesfully the first time using hdmi, when i tried to use the dvi, everything got wrecked, and the issue repeated, now, trying to reproduce it has been impossible, instead the screen gets freezed after the windows starting logo with the mouse pointer in the center and the screen hundreds of square-like distortioned, like when you removed a snes game without turning the console off, tetris mode.

Same here - for more than 3 months already!
I have Zotac Z77-itx and LG W2486L monitor (HDMI).
I cannot even watch films on this system.
Dear Intel guys, could you please let us know whether you intent do DO something about this BUG, or should we buy other hardware?
If latter - what should I try buying to get HD4000 to work - the monitor or the motherboard? Which one?

I would like to add an issue, which I believe is the same as most of the contributors to this thread:
When I boot my PC, both my VGA and HDMI monitor show the Windows loading screen, but as soon as I reach the log on screen, the HDMI monitor is killed off, it will not be recognized by the resolution settings on my PC.
Then I have to install the latest driver again and and the HDMI monitor kicks into action, I have to delay the restart that the driver installer tells me to do because when my PC restarts, he process repeats, I have to re-install the driver every time.
First I had this issue on Windows 7 64bit, but today I installed a fresh copy of Windows 8 64bit which I acquired via the Microsoft dreamspark program (MSDN) and I am still having this issue.
Here is a list of my Hardware:-
- OCZ ZS SERIES 650W 80PLUS BRONZE POWER SUPPLY
- 3RD GENERATION INTEL CORE™ I5 3570K 3.40GHZ SOCKET LGA1155 - RETAIL
- CRUCIAL BALLISTIX SPORT 8GB (2X4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 C9 1600MHZ DUAL CHANNEL KIT
- MSI Z77MA-G45 INTEL Z77 (SOCKET 1155) MOTHERBOARD
- OCZ 120GB SOLID 3 SSD
I would like to know how long it will be till this issue is resolved as it is quite clearly a driver issue.

To Robert,
I recently download the newest driver of HD 4000 at Asus support motherboard P8Z77-V LK and found out that there is a WHEA LOGGER event id 19 when playing high resolution games such as NBA 2K12, Street fight x tekken and etc. this problem cause computer to crash or freeze. The only solution is to rollback to the old driver 8.15.xxxxxxxx Please solve this problem.

Some more specs with the same problem
ASUS zenbook UX21A ultrabook connecting via micro-HDMI to the TV.
n.b. the display works right up until windows 7 starts up i.e. right after the windows logo/splash animation finishes
Uninstalled Intel display drivers: display works in windows 7
Installed Intel display drivers, boot into safe mode: display works in windows 7
Now the wonky part - installed intel windows display driver display doesn't work in windows 7 . . . EXCEPT if holding the cable (micro-hdmi side into the laptop) in a certain position. It should be noted that regardless if I'm holding the cable or not, the display works if I'm not using the intel display drivers via safe mode or an uninstall of the drivers; display still works before windows loads the drivers. I suspect the problem to be the drivers because if I don't use the intel drivers it works . . . but I just bought another micro-hdmi to hdmi cable just to be sure.
