Intel HD 4000 freezes my computer

I have Windows 8 and Intel HD 4000 graphics. The driver version is 9.17.10.2867. When I try to play a game in full screen it freezes my whole computer. Does anyone else have this problem? And is there a way to fix it?

The P8Z77-V LK BIOS on ASUS's site has also been updated to 0908. I will try this asap. Finally the website is working again.

Hi.

I have similar/same problem.

My PC configuration:

Intel Core i5-3570K

Asus P8Z68-V LX (BIOS Version 4003)

Kingston HyperX KHX1600C9D3/4GX (8GB @ 1600 MHz)

Realtek ALC887 @ Intel Cougar Point PCH - High Definition Audio Controller [B-3] (driver R2.70)

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit (with latest updates)

I tested this issue on:

Test Drive Unlimited 2

Colin McRae Rally 04

Trine

Worms Reloaded

Hitman Absolution (with v1.0.444.0.Update)

With default Intel HD 4000 Windows 7 drivers (8.15.10.2598) every game works in fullscreen mode (except Hitman - game background is flashing and whole game is dark).

Every later Intel HD 4000 driver (i try: 9.17.10.2849, 9.17.10.2875) above games works good in normal mode (no fullscreen), but when i try switch it to fullscreen (alt+enter) my PC is freeze.

Hi Rooff_,

Can I get you to test out two more drivers and see if you're issue is resolved? The first one is from Asus* for your specific motherboard; http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=1&m=P8Z68-V+LX&hashedid=QbKg5KhI5BjopWec http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=1&m=P8Z68-V+LX&hashedid=QbKg5KhI5BjopWec

The second one is our latest driver; http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22375&lang=eng Download Center

Give those a try and let me know if it fixes the issue or not.

Thanks,

-Nic

Yesterday I've downloaded these drivers (downloaded from many sources because I could not found posibilities to download it from Intel website):

8.15.10.2622

8.15.10.2626

8.15.10.2639

8.15.10.2653

8.15.10.2696

8.15.10.2712

8.15.10.2752

8.15.10.2761

8.15.10.2778

9.17.10.2828

9.17.10.2843

9.17.10.2849

9.17.10.2857

9.17.10.2867

9.17.10.2875

9.17.10.2897

9.17.10.2932

I check everyone and:

- drivers 8.15.10.xxxx works as I wrote in previous post

- drivers 9.17.10.xxxx freezing my PC 😕

As You ask I check also latest drivers (9.17.10.2828) from Asus website - still nothing.

The latest drivers from Intel website I've checked yesterday.

I could try to get You more help or clue with some debuger or something.

But You must tell me what i should install or simply what to do

thanks Rooff_, finally I can launch all my games normal in fullscreen without having problems. And I really don't understand why or am I that stupid that there are no older drivers on the intel page up? It took one hour for me to get an old Intel driver (8.15.10.2761) and I don't found it on some intel pages or driver storage pages. No I must took it from DELL and thats for a company who is big like intel a joke that there are no older drivers easy to access via service center/downloadcenter.

Hi Alec. You'll need to contact your OEM for assistance with this issue (specifically Apple*).

Thanks,

Hello guys. I got the same problem, here is my system:

Intel i5 3570k

Asrock Z77 pro 3 (latest bios 1.9)

16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz DDR3 Ram

1TB WD HDD

LG Optical Drive

The Onboard-GPU-Chip causes the problem for sure, because with an old Nvidia 8600GT no freezes occured. The temperatures are normal while playing. Windowed Mode didn't fix the problem either.

Thanks for the info tomok. Since you've tried using our latest driver, and have fully updated BIOS - I would suggest giving your OEM driver a try; http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z77%20Pro3/?cat=Download&os=Win764 http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z77%20Pro3/?cat=Download&os=Win764

Let me know how it goes.

I installed these drivers and my game still freezes:

-Realtek HD audio driver

-INF driver

-Intel Management Engine

-Realtek Lan driver

-Rapid Storage

-Intel USB 3.0

I left out the other drivers, because i think they don't affect the result.
