Intel HD 530 (6700K) 2d graphic artifacts while and after resizing

Hi,

I recently have graphic issues involving window resizing:

If I for example open Windows Explorer and enlarge the Window with the mouse using the left border, I get artifacts as visible in attachment (Artifacts1.png).

If I resize slowly (~2 Pixels per second) the issue does not appear.

If I resize a bit faster it looks like the scrollbar in Artifacts1.png smears to the left (looks like it the right edge of the scrollbar a bit too far left, doing that for every resize event)

If I go even faster the artifacts remain pretty static as seen in Artifacts1.png.

Once the artifacts are there (there is no movement like noise) they remain until the window is minimized or dragged out of view (i.e. until the area is repainted instead of just moved)

This doesn't only happen with Windows Explorer but other applications as well:

Affected: Windows Explorer, Windows Photo Viewer, mIRC, etc

Not Affected: Chrome, Visual Studio, Notepad++, Device Manager, etc

The second Image Artifacts2.png, happens rarely (at least I haven't found a way to reproduce it) and it occurred when restoring the window from minimized state.

The issues probably started after upgrading the driver (I had trouble with starting Minecraft and it was recommended to upgrade the drivers which solved the issue), though I'm not sure which version it was.

If more information is need I'm happy to provide them.

Hi,

I was testing this graphics version to see if I get the same problem you have but I was not able to replicate the issue.

At this point, I suggest installing the latest generic Beta graphics driver from the Intel website.

You can download this driver at the following link:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25957/Intel-Beta-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=88345 Intel® Beta Graphics Driver for Windows® 10 and Windows 7*/8.1* [15.40]

Before installing this driver uninstall the old driver first, please see http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005598.html Uninstalling the Intel® Graphics Driver and Intel® Display HDMI/Audio Driver

Once the driver is uninstalled restart your system and then manually install the Beta driver, see http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005629.html How to Manually Install an Intel® Graphics Driver in Windows® 10 & Windows 8* or Windows 8.1*

I hope this can help you.

Best wishes,

Ivan

Hi, the latest Beta Driver seem to have fixed the issue.

While removing the driver and restarting, Windows installed older drivers again (20.19.15.4331) and there the issues didn't happen either.

Unless you want me to try if I can reproduce it again with 20.19.15.4424 to make sure it wasn't something else, this issue can be closed.

Thanks for the help.

In this case if your system now is up and running with no problems I suggest you to keep it like that and don't try anything else, most likely the driver did not install correctly from the beginning and after reinstalling the driver it fixes the problem.

I'm having a very similar problem to Arokh, but my issue is with my own DirectX software, rather than Windows Explorer. When 2D textures on the screen are scaled down smaller than their native resolution, similar graphical artifacts appear. I've only been able to duplicate the issues on PCs with i3-6100 and i3-6100T using Intel HD 530. All of my other test PCs either have discreet graphics cards or are older generations of Intel HD, and they do not show this issue.

I've attempted to install Intel's beta drivers listed above (20.19.15.4444), and it did not fix the issue, even after a Safe Mode clean uninstall and reinstall of the drivers. I've also tried using the drivers from Dell (the manufacturer of these PCs), and they give me driver 20.19.15.4454, with no changes in the issue. Let me know if I should create a separate thread for my issue, but I feel like the symptoms are very similar to Arokh's.

Try reinstalling your driver manually and disconnect the internet when you are installing the driver.

First uninstall the driver please see http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005598.html Uninstalling the Intel® Graphics Driver and Intel® Display HDMI/Audio Driver

You can follow the steps http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005629.html How to Manually Install an Intel® Graphics Driver in Windows® 10 & Windows 8* or Windows 8.1*

I hope this can help you.
