Intel HD Graphics 1st gen Drivers - Windows 10 TUTORIAL (100% WORKING)

Hey guys,

Looking for weeks on how to install Intel HD Graphics drivers (1st gen) on Windows 10, I found a way to do this, it's working nicely for me, and I'm sure it will work for you too.

Just follow these steps:

PART 1:

1 - Download your driver file (.zip) for Windows 7;

2 - On the folder, look for another folder, named "Graphics";

3 - Open the file "kit51428.inf" (I don't know, but on recent drivers it looks like the name of this file has changed, but there's only one ".inf" file inside this folder);

4 - Copy everything under [IntelGfx.NTamd64.6.0] (or equivalent for 32-bit) and paste it under [IntelGfx.NTamd64.6.2];

5 - Save the file.

PART 2:

6 - Before you run the Setup, you have to restart the system on a different way, like it's made on this video, to make possible to install unsigned drivers on your Windows;

7 - Now, you can run the Setup inside Intel Driver's folder;

8 - The system will probably ask you if you want to install unsigned drivers, just click OK;

9 - After the install, you will have all the features you had on Windows 7;

Sorry for the terrible English guys, despite this, the tutorial is accurate.

UPDATE!!! Windows 10 will eventually try to remove your driver (OF COURSE, IT'S "UNSIGNED" RIGHT?) and restore to Microsoft's one... To avoid this, Microsoft released a tool, here's the link, just follow the instructions and disable Microsoft's driver update on it... https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930 That's it... Now you can play your games, use your HDMI, watch videos with a better quality etc.

Do this mean that i can use older graphics drivers that worked for me before i upgraded to win 10 ?

I was waiting all this time to use Windows 10 just because of this problem, and when I figure it out how to solve it, I almost cried! Yes, maybe this should work for you.

I noticed a better performance on simple things, like watching youtube videos, turning windows 10 effects on, and also playing games, like FIFA 14.

Probably Windows will keep trying to remove your driver and replacing for microsoft's version, if that happens, open this link and follow the instructions given by Microsoft...

I didnt have windows 7 before win 10 but do you think this would work for th ewin 8 drivers ?

Yes, you can ignore steps 1 to 5 (just for windows 7), and it should work...

Hi, I need some clarification about what needs to be copied from the [IntelGfx.NTamd64.6.0] section.

in my inf file, under that section all I have is ; no install on Vista

Under the [IntelGfx.NTamd64.6.1] [IntelGfx.NTamd64.6.2] and [IntelGfx.NTamd64.6.3] sections there are many entries.

Below is the first line to each of those sections.

Your inf file seems different from the one I have here... Which Intel HD Graphics are you using? If you were able to install on Win8 before, you probably just have to follow the instructions on the video. Try it and give me your feedback...

Thanks for getting back to me so quick! I've watched the video, but it only explains how to turn off the signed driver requirement. It doesn't show the exact steps to modify the inf file, which would have been helpful seeing as I appear to have different inf files than you!

I've tried several drivers from the past couple years that are Windows 7/8 and 8.1 compatible, but I always get an a message that says a driver has been found but an error occurred and this is by installing through device manager --> update driver and then choosing "Let me choose a driver" like in the video.

Not sure what driver to use. Do you have a suggestion and a link to the one you used?

I have a Intel HD Graphics from the 1st gen, so I have just one option when it comes to install the drivers - Win7. Try to run the Setup of your driver after turning off the signed driver requirement. Apparently your graphics card is more recent than mine.

This is my inf file after changing the lines:

My graphics is the 1st gen from an i5-480m CPU. I was just trying newer drivers to see which one if any would work with your work around above. I did however find an older driver that did install, but apparently did not install amy OpenGL driver with it. I'm trying to get minecraft to run, but I keep OpenGL errors. If I don't get that to run in Windows 10 with this Graphics chip, it may be time to go back to Windows 7 and sell this laptop and buy something newer! Thanks for all of your help!

Copy and replace all this in the .inf

After updating the driver from MIPC > Properties> Device Manager> search your video card>upgrade driver>search driver in the pc>select the driver>and install.

PDTA: Intel I hate you -It's a Joke- , but please more support for older processors and new SO's, because when I bought my PC this "allegedly" had support for 4 years and nothing. NONE IN WINDOWS 8, NONE IN WINDOWS 8.1 and NEVER IN WINDOWS 10.

This procedure does not work on Windows 10, build 1511 (10586.164), It appears that Intel (or MS) has introduced a hash cross-check that will disable the installation as described above. So, if you make any changes to the inf file (as required by the above method), the original hash sum changes and the catalog cross check fails as shown below.

If it worked for you, I can only assume I did something wrong or your driver version did not contain a security catalog file. So, did you download a fresh copy or did you just reinstall from your previous download? I am certain I disabled driver enforcement on my machine before attempting the install; however, that fact that your method still works for you (and not for me) leaves me puzzled to say the least. In summary, if you downloaded the same copy as I did, and yours works and mine does not, then I must have done something wrong; therefore, I apologize for my misleading analysis in my previous post.

Specifically:

I am running W10 Retail. You are most likely running W10 OEM (Home, Home N or Pro).

I was extracting (and editing) the contents of a zip file. You most likely just ran the exe file and did not have to do any editing (as required by this procedure).

My driver version was v8.15.10.2993. Your driver version is v8.15.10.2182.

Glad yours worked but now I am still skeptical that my findings may be accurate.

I had to extract the content of the exe and edit the inf file to install it.

My windows version is a W7 OEM upgraded with a W10 1511 iso.
