Intel HD Graphics 2500 - enable multi-monitor (3 screens)

Okay, so I've been all over the internet trying to figure out how to extend my screen to a third monitor.

In the native Display Properties I receive this error every time I try to extend

But in the Intel Graphics Options, I'm never given the option to include the third monitor.

In each section, I can choose from the three monitors but can never detect or add the third monitor, even though everything from Intel and Lenovo state that it should be possible.

I have the devices connected via 2 Display Port and 1 VGA.

I've gone as far as taking my screens down to 1280x768 to try and cut bandwidth even though Intel's Max resolution documentation states that 1920x1080 should be sufficient, but I still see the same errors and no ability to add a third screen.

The Graphics Control panel shows all three monitors in each of the drop downs, but I can't find anywhere to actually allow for a third to be selected.

Thank you very much for your reply.Allow me to share with you that the graphics controller installed on your system will definitely allow 3 monitors be connected to it nonetheless, there might be a physical restriction which will not allow this in your Lenovo™ machine. The Intel® Graphics controllers features can be manipulated by the manufacturer of the mainboard. Same problem for me. I have 2 digital monitors connected to the DisplayPorts and one in the VGA and it is impossible to have the three working at the same time.

For the record, neither Windows 10 or 11 solved this problem. Dell 7010, latest intel drivers.

For the record, this is a 5-year old thread, and HD 2500 is not supported by W10 or W11, nor are the processors with HD 2500.

Again, you are responding to a very old conversation about a very old - and long discontinued - product. Intel Customer Support is not going to involve themselves in the resolution of this issue, so it's just us riffraff.

There have been a number of cases where attempts to simultaneously connect three monitors using 2500 graphics did not succeed. Dell platforms seemed to come up in most of these cases. I have only seen tripple monitor configurations be successful when using 3rd gen processors with 4000 graphics. Still, the specs say that this should be possible. If it is, I believe it may only be possible using just the DisplayPort ports.

You can connect two (or even three) monitors to a single DisplayPort port using daisy-chaining, but this is only possible if at least one (or two) of the monitors provides built-in support for DisplayPort daisy-chaining. The other, simpler way is to use an MST Hub device. Here is an example of a DP-to-2xDP MST Hub device: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NCQC3V4.
