I updated my Windows 10 on Wednesday with the latest update to Windows 10 Version 1709. I received an error saying that the Intel HD graphics driver was not working, and would be replace with the generic Windows one. So not I cannot use my extra monitors. I tried to roll back the Windows update, which failed. I then did a search on your website for an updated driver, and found https://downloadmirror.intel.com/24345/a08/Intel%2520Driver%2520and%2520Support%2520Assistant%2520Installer.exe https://downloadmirror.intel.com/24345/a08/Intel%20Driver%20and%20Support%20Assistant%20Installer.exe which advised me that I need to download and install https://downloadmirror.intel.com/26813/eng/win64_153345.4653.exe https://downloadmirror.intel.com/26813/eng/win64_153345.4653.exe . I did this, but Windows 10 rejected it and insisted on using the generic Windows one. So it appears that the above graphics driver is incompatible with the latest Windows update.
Do you have any suggestion on fixing this issue?

Hello Chris.Lane,
Thank you for bringing this matter to the Community. I am sorry to hear you are having issues with Windows® 10.
The first thing I recommend is to check with your computer manufacturer if your system is fully validated to run Windows® 10 1709 since an unsupported version could cause such behavior. From my end, you can try uninstalling the current driver and install the one below manually, you fill find the instructions below.
Uninstall your driver:
- Open the Device Manager using the steps provided for your operating system:
- Expand the Display Adapters section.
- Find the Intel Graphics Driver.
- Right-click the Intel Graphics Driver and select Uninstall.
- Select the check box Delete the driver software for this device.
- Reboot the computer after uninstall process has finished.
Install the following driver: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26813/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-33-?product=81499 using these steps: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005629/graphics-drivers.html

Hi Amy
I followed your instructions, but ended up with the same result (Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)), so it seems that the problem may lie with the supplier of my laptop not providing updated drivers.. I have emailed the suppliers, but don't hold out much hope as they discontinued making laptops, apparently. Irritatingly, as mentioned in my original post, I cannot get Windows to roll back to the pre-Creators update state, so appear to be stuck with the Microsoft Basic Display Driver until I buy a new laptop.
Kind reagrds
Chris

I am sorry to hear that Chris!
I would recommend to contact Microsoft in order to confirm the steps to roll back this Windows® 10 update, once done you can try our driver one more time.
Let's hope the computer manufacturer can add more information.
Regards,
Amy C.

I managed to roll back eventually. I saw an article explaining how to roll back from the initial sign-in screen that allowed me to roll back before signing in to Windows 10. Of course, this only delays the inevitable update, but hopefully I will have had a positive reaction from the manufacturers of my laptop.
Kind regards
Chris
