Intel Iris XE, does it support two Ultra Wide Screen Displays?

Hello!

I´m currently using a Dell Latitude 7420 notebook with the Dell U4924DW monitor connected to one of the USB-C ports, resolution: 5120x1440.
This works without any problems.

Is it possible to run a second monitor (also a U4924DW) on the second USB-C port on the notebook at the same time (then also with a 5120x1440 resolution)?

Notebook:

CPU: 11th Gen Intel i7-1185G7, 3Ghz

GPU: Intel Iris Xe Graphics, ID: 8086/9A49

Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities. We would be more than glad to help you with your issue. 

In order to have a better understanding of your issue, please provide me with the following: 

·        Are you using adapters or docking stations to connect the monitor to the laptop?

Please consider using only validated cables to connect the monitor if you want to receive the best performance possible.

According to our research, it seems that it is possible to connect another display to the resolution you are looking for since Thunderbolt 4 enables until 40 Gbps and the consumption of the monitor is 23.89 Gbps, so it seems that is supported by the Thunderbolt port, but always try to get in contact with the original equipment manufacturer first to get an answer by them too. Because if they changed something on their systems it will be better to get a response by them, for this please contact DELL to verify this information.

I only use the notebook. The monitor is connected directly to the notebook. Through the monitor, the notebook is connected to power, network and other peripheral devices.

I had already asked Dell, but unfortunately, I didn´t get a "good" answer:

"Explicitly I can't find the answer, however here are specifications of Intel XE graphics:

If the built-in display plus 2 other displays are used, it will probably not be possible to reach the 5120x1440 resolution."

Then I won't take any risk and use a slightly smaller display.
