Intel UHD630 display frequency

Hi, sorry to bother you

I've recently bought a new laptop with the Intel core i5 10500H, from what I've found it has the Intel UHD 630 iGPU. I've hooked it up to my old XG2401 which is a 144hz panel with HDMI. I'm unable to set the display to anything more than 120Hz, I'm using a certified premium HDMI cable with a HDMI 1.4 supported on the XG2401.

I updated all the drivers, the driver itself tells me that 144Hz is supported  but doesn't actually let me to set the refresh rate.  Am I missing something or is this completely normal ?

Thank you in advance for your answer.

Have a wonderful day.

All I can say is that, for some reason, the graphics driver is determining the supportable refresh rate and, while it is high enough to support 120Hz, it is not high enough to support 144Hz. This may be the laptop's fault and not your cable, but I would be trying another cable.

Hope this helps,
