My screen dims to zero even when plugged in. All Win 10 settings are correct. Power plan has screen at 75% when plugged in and all adaptive screen brightness settings are turned off. Specs of my video card follow. There are no settings I can change on the intel interface for when plugged in. Please advise. This is beyond frustrating.
(Also what's beyond frustrating is that Intel would not accept any user i.d. when I tried to create an account,no matter how long I made it and how many random letters and numbers I used. Then when I logged in with Google, I could not get to the page to ask a question (which it already let me type before I logged in, but did not post after I logged in). Asinine. Come on, Intel.)

Allan,
Thanks for the information as well as the follow up. I just installed the updated driver. After a reboot, the brightness level did stay at the 75% level I have set. I am cautiously optimistic this has solved the issue. I will report back if the problem recurs. Thanks again for your help!
Chris
Allan,
Unfortunately, as I feared, updating the drivers did not fix the issue. Just booted up plugged in and screem dimmed to 2% instead of the 75% it's supposed to be. For the life of me, I can't understand what about the graphics card would be putting the screen at 2%. I have it set to 75% plugged in and 50% on battery through the Win 10 power settings. It should never go to 2% unless the battery is about to die (and I'm not even sure it would happen then).
Any other ideas?
Chris
That is unfortunate.
Please try installing the latest graphics drivers version 4530.

Also, I would like to know if this problem happens with drivers provided by your computer manufacturer.
Allan.
