what about BSOD's after ALT+TAB? Just run heavy videogame and use Alt+Tab or Win several times.

I'm having problems with games CS GO and DOTA2, both lost a lot of FPS after I updated my system to WIN10. Also lost a lot of quality in the audio of the games. CS GO played in the 50 ~ 60FPS, with win10 and 15.4256 driver'm playing to 30 ~ 40 FPS, sometimes 20. DOTA2 not pass the 30fps, I played with 40 ~ 50 FPS. DOTA2 not open by selecting the option in the "Control Panel Graphic intel"> 3D> Enables CMAA option. I hope to help these reporting errors and concerte as fast as possible, I want to play with all potential of Intel HD graphics 4400 I know it has.

HD 4600 stop working and recover several times, it fails every single time I'm playing Hearthstone and browsing videos at the same time. Some times it just permanently freezes the PC activity and I can get it back to work only forcing shutdown.

The audio output through HDMI doesnt work either, the HDMI device is enabled, when I select it to be the default and/or test it, it doesnt output any sound

H_DANILO: Any sort of hardware acceleration seems to be completely bugged with this driver in Windows 10. I had the same problems. Either the screen turns black and i get a bluescreen, or the PC freezes completely. The only workaround for now is to turn off all DXVA / hardware acceleration. There is a setting for it in the browser (Firefox: Options - Advanced - Use HW acceleration) and in most video players. This is the only way to avoid crashes and freezes with these drivers.

I'm hoping Intel will fix this soon. Otherwise i will buy an NVIDIA card. The Intel drivers in this current state are a catastrophy.

Thank you for your work-around, i'll try it out and see what happens. I have a r9 280x, but its out for warranty so I'm using the HD 4600 anyway, but man, that is painful, the driver really sucks in windows 10.

With Windows 10 Enterprise build 10525 (preview for October W10 SP1) comprising this driver, and running on a Q2'13 i7-4770S (SR14H) stepping 3, rev 1C, Intel HD Graphics 4600 control panel shows Microsoft DirectX runtime version 12, yet the hardware-supported version as 11.1

DxDiag 10.00.10525 also reflects that the 4256 idg*.dll drivers support up to feature level 11.1 and WHQL logo'd

So where Microsoft indicated OS-level support, I am now wondering whether Intel drivers are.

http://techreport.com/news/26199/directx-12-to-support-existing-hardware-first-games-due-in-late-2015 DirectX 12 to support existing hardware; first games due in late 2015 - The Tech Report

I am not a gamer, but I downloaded Metroid Sun Temple DX12 demo http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-08-21-metroid-fan-realises-hd-samus-in-unreal-engine-4-tech-demo Metroid fan realises HD Samus in Unreal Engine 4 tech demo • Eurogamer.net

and it seems to work (smooth at 4K and I only have integrated GPU graphics) , so I wonder whether the Intel control panel tests for DX12 and whether the drivers report this to dxdiag.

Meanwhile we are still limited to 32bpp by the drivers at any resolution since June 2013.

Yes, hopefully this will bridge the time for you until you get your Radeon back. Make sure to turn on hardware acceleration again then, otherwise everything will be done in software by your CPU...

Haswell supports Feature Level 11_1, this is correct. But it also supports DX 12.0 via FL 11.x nervertheless.

These frequent BSOD issues have me very frustrated, to say the least! Can anyone tell me if this is an actual issue with my i7-4771 CPU, or simply a driver-related problem that can be fixed? I do not have a dedicated GPU at this time, and am only using the graphics of my i7-4771 CPU. I've also noticed lately that my CPU takes an extra few seconds during POST. The CPU fan will "twitch" about 3 or 4 times (a few seconds apart from each) before finally kicking in and booting into Windows. I've never seen it do this before until recently, and I haven't added anything to my system. I sure hope my CPU isn't about to die on me. I am very concerned about this, Intel.

When playing videos, especially through HTML5, recurrent and reproducible (though it may take several hours of continuous playback) permanent system hangs (freezes) requiring hard reset - screen appears "frozen" and mouse/keyboard are not responsive (including keyboard num/caps lock lights) usually not leaving any messages in the event viewer, but at few occasions preceded by "video driver crashed and was reloaded" notifications (that will register in the event viewer).

Some of the time the hang will also be preceded by a series of blackouts where the screen would turn black but the mouse would still be responsive and then freeze for several seconds then unfreeze and repeat several times until the system will permanently hang (event viewer will have several video driver crash reports in this case).

This problem never occurred when using Windows 7 (the system was very stable and would work for more than a month straight without restart). Only started after installing Windows 10 (a clean install, not an upgrade).

More detailed information and reproduction logs are available in this thread:

Chef-Jeff and user2k, i'm pretty sure this is all to do with hardware acceleration not working correctly with the Windows 10 Intel drivers. Both in Firefox and in the video player. It is completely broken with this driver, leading to freezes, "black screen" syndrome and bluescreens.

As a workaround, like i said a page before, you need to turn off all DXVA / hardware acceleration. There is a setting for it in the browser (Firefox: Options - Advanced - Use HW acceleration) and in most video players (turn off DXVA, for example in MPC-HC: Use "System Default" output). This is the only way to avoid crashes and freezes with these drivers; let everything be calculated in software by the CPU, no GPU-acceleration.

This of course leads to higher CPU utilization and a bigger power draw, as well as worse video resizing quality in MPC-HC, so make sure to enable the acceleration again whenever Intel manages to fix this driver...

Hi. I have Intel Pentium G3220 (Haswell) processor. Under Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 I was using QuickSync decoder to decode H.264 video up to 4K/UHD resolution. But under Windows 10 I can only decode H.264 video only up to 1080p resolution. I am using LAV Video Decoder and I also tried with DXVA Checker 3.5.0 and 3.6.0. DXVA Checker does not report 4K/UHD support in main tab under Windows 10.

@Detmek

I have the exact same processor (Pentium G3220, and using Win10 Pro x64, see my full report on post # 121). I have the latest BIOS, chipset and graphic drivers. I ran DXVA checker and this is what I got:

Right now I'm more concerned with the severe hang/freeze problem though, as watching videos with DXVA enabled now has the risk of data loss and disk corruption. (I haven't confirmed by 100% certainty it's a DXVA issue though, but it seems very likely at this point).

But i have confirmed that it's a DXVA issue, simply because i haven't had a single freeze/black screen/bluescreen since disabling it everywhere. Of course this is only a workaround until Intel finally does their homework on these Windows 10 drivers! Unbelievable how this has slipped through during their tests, plus Windows 10 didn't exactly come out of the blue...

Hello,

I'm reposting this after been told that this thread might help my issue (Original post: )

System:

Now with windows 10 (But tried this also with windows 8.1 and it also happend)

Chrome version 44.0.2403.157 m

processor 4720HQ

Having problem in my brand new Lenovo Y50 4K Touch with the Intel processor 4720HQ.

As you can see in the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SecmTKRxXSU Youtube link attached, while playing videos on google chrome the videos lagging.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SecmTKRxXSU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SecmTKRxXSU

According to the Lenovo technicians (after long checking including updating everything) they claim that this is because that the Intel processor, 4720HQ, isn't strong eanough / don't know how to work with 4K screens since when we "told" to Chrome to work only with the Nvidia card this didn't happen.

I find this hard to believe so I would like to ask you this:

1. If this sound right to you? Does it possible that the Intel 4720 isn't strong eanough to work with 4K screens?

2. Did you ever heard about this kind of problem?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SecmTKRxXSU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SecmTKRxXSU

3. Can it be fixed?

P.S

Sorry for my bad English, hope it's understandable.

Thanks,

Shay

I suffer from lots of driver resets on my i7-6700k with HD 530 under Windows 10 while I'm browsing, mostly Firefox. One time I got a message "video_schedule_internal_error" which forced a PC restart. Another note, GFxBench GL 3.1 Manhattan ES 3.1 offscreen is broken on Skylake. It freezes while testing.
