Hello every body,
I am GNU/Linux's user (on Ubuntu 12.04) and i install steam. I could play with some game: World of Goo, Osmos ... When i try to launch Team Forteress 2, i have only have a black screen and see my little mouse and sound.
I have got an Intel HM55/Ironlake Mobile with Intel® Core™ i3 CPU M 350 @ 2.27GHz × 4 on Ubuntu 12.04.1

The Intel generic graphics drivers that we have available in our Intel site are only build to work for Microsoft* Windows* operating systems, so if you are experiencing any issues with graphics I recommend you contact the Linux distribution vendor or computer manufacturer.

I've got exactly the same problem on my Acer Aspire D270 with an Intel GMA3600. Other Games from Steam work fine, but I only get a black screen when I try to play Team Fortress 2.
I am not using the Open-Source Driver but the proprietary Intel Cedarview Driver, will it get improved someday?
Also Windows users complain about the lack of support for the GMA 3600
