UHD 600: поддержка декодирования HEVC.

Доброго времени суток.

Планирую приобрести неттоп ASUS Mini PC PN40-BC100MC 90MS0181-M015200 c N4100 (UHD 600) на борту.

Очень интересует вопрос, справится ли этот чип с декодированием 4К UHD видео (8 и 10 бит) @ 60 Гц зажатого h.265?

Sadly, once you get to enable the I965 VA driver, you get hardware acceleration for H264. There is no support for VP9 or HEVC for the 600 series of GPUs, only for IceLake chips and their Gen 11 graphics.

The description of the VAAPI driver in Synaptic​s Package Manager says it all. Also, there are reports on GitHub about it.

I was install Kubuntu 18.04 on my PN40 (N4100) and watch 4K HEVC movies. All fine out of the box (mpv+smplayer)!
