VIDEO_TDR_ERROR on Intel HD Graphics 530

System Setup Information:
-----------------------------------------

System Used: ASUS X550VX (Laptop)
CPU SKU: i7-6700HQ
GPU SKU: Intel HD Graphics 530, Nvidia GTX 950 (dual graphics)
Processor Line: HQ-series
System BIOS Version: 302
CMOS settings: Default, laptops don't give many options anyway.
Graphics Driver Version: Latest DCH, 25.20.100.6519; Latest NVIDIA standard from their site (more on that later)
GOP/VBIOS Version: N/A
Operating System: Windows 10
OS Version: 1803, Up to date
API: N/A
Occurs on non-Intel GPUs?: N/A

Steps to Reproduce:
-------------------------------
1. Launch a game (I have World of Warcraft, its running on the discrete GPU but this error happens anyway)
2. At some random point game hangs, in most cases leading to mouse and system hangs.
3. Event log full of Event 4101 "Display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered."
4. When I left it reboot by itself, Windows made a memory dump with bugcheck 0x00000116 (0xffffda004fec0010, 0xfffff803b5a182f0, 0xffffffffc0000001, 0x0000000000000003) - this is a VIDEO_TDR_ERROR.
5. The program Whos Crashed v6.60 reads the info from the dump file and points to the drivers responsible:

On Thu 21-Feb-19 9:27:41 AM your computer crashed or a problem was reported
crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\022119-10171-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: igdkmd64.sys (0xFFFFF803B5A182F0)
Bugcheck code: 0x116 (0xFFFFDA004FEC0010, 0xFFFFF803B5A182F0, 0xFFFFFFFFC0000001, 0x3)
Error: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR
file path: C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\iigd_dch.inf_amd64_c341b9f860fc726f\igdkmd64.sys
product: Intel HD Graphics Drivers for Windows(R)
company: Intel Corporation
description: Intel Graphics Kernel Mode Driver
Bug check description: This indicates that an attempt to reset the display driver and recover from a timeout failed.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: igdkmd64.sys (Intel Graphics Kernel Mode Driver, Intel Corporation).
Google query: igdkmd64.sys Intel Corporation VIDEO_TDR_ERROR

Expected Results:
To not hang.

Actual Results:
Hangs.

Additional Information:
I was using the standard Intel driver, not the DCH one beforehand. I rebooted to Safe Mode and used DDU to uninstall it (I had some problems with it) and rebooted again to install the newest DCH driver from Intel's website.

Curiously, when I tried to do the same for my NVIDIA GPU, it didn't want to install the DCH drivers, saying system is incompatible. Standard latest driver was installed perfectly fine though.
