Will Intel® HD Graphics 530 output 1440p/60Hz using HDMI cable?

Hi!

Need a little help...

I'm going to buy an external monitor for photo editing (not going to use it to play games) and I have an MSI GL62-6QF with a GTX960M and Intel HD 530.

As far as my research went, I think the APU will handle 4K at 60Hz via display port:

Right?

But what about 2560x1440 using HDMI, also at 60Hz?

Or will it be limited to 1080p, since HDMI is 1.4?

I need to be absolutely sure that I'll be able to get 1440p from the Intel Graphics using HDMI because I've been looking at some monitors that don't have display port... and if the graphics card can't do 1440p via HDMI, those won't be an option...

Thanks in advance!

Intel HD Graphics 530 outputs a DisplayPort 1.2 signal. This can easily support 2160p (4K) @ 60Hz. Now, if you have a HDMI connector, then a LSPcon chip is being used to convert from DP to HDMI. If this chip (and its firmware; check for update(s) being available) is capable of supporting HDMI 2.0, then it will support a 2160p (4K) @ 60Hz HDMI monitor as well. Presuming all this, supporting 1440p @ 60Hz should not be an issue.

Hope this helps,
