Hey guys!!! okay so basically i have intergrated graphics, and i can run most games smoothly. However, when i try to record, it gives me errors such as encoding issues. I have consulted multiple OBS specialists (some randos from discord lol) and they told me to maybe check out if intel made their own screen recorders? Another issue is when i can screen record( say on minercaft) it gives me like 3 fps even with the most optimized settings in both mc and obs combined. ( i also work on fps modpacks, and i am usign one that works very well, so the issue has to be encoding)

Hello MYTHCOOKIE,
Thank you for posting in the community. First, I want to set the right expectations regarding this matter. As you mentioned, the Iris Xe is an integrated GPU, which comes with certain limitations that discrete GPUs do not have. One key difference is VRAM; integrated GPUs typically share memory with the system RAM, whereas discrete GPUs have dedicated VRAM on their boards.
Using a modpack while playing Minecraft, along with a third-party screen recording application, can put significant strain on your system and may reduce your FPS. Though I'm still curious about this issue and have a few questions I'd like to ask. Please take a look at the questions below:
- What is the exact model of your laptop?
- Could you share the exact graphics driver version installed on your system?
- Have you tried playing the vanilla version of Minecraft with the recorder on? If so, is the FPS similar?
- Have you tried using the Microsoft Game Bar, which includes a screen recording feature, while playing Minecraft?
As for our own screen recorder, Intel has made the tough decision to retire the Studio page and it’s feature for now in our graphics software. The reason behind this decision is the features within the Studio page had very low user usage, and many features within the Studio page are supported by great third party software today like OBS, Steam, Windows GameBar etc. We may consider bringing back these features in the future if demand is high.
Also, to better understand your entire system information, please use the System Support Utility (SSU). This will generate a text file that compiles all your system information. You can follow this link for instructions and send the text file here: Help Guide for the Intel® System Support Utility

Hi MYTHCOOKIE,
Thank you for sharing this information. If you want to use the screen recording feature in the Intel Graphics Command Center (Beta), you can download it from the Microsoft Store. Simply search for the application by name, and once installed, you can find it under the "Home" section by navigating to the "Capture" tab.
Best regards,

Hi MYTHCOOKIE,
I wanted to follow up to see if you've seen my previous response, where I mentioned that you can use the IGCC (Beta) for its recording capabilities. Please let me know if you have any further questions about this.
Best regards,

Hi MYTHCOOKIE,
I wanted to inform you that you might consider using other third-party screen recording applications besides OBS and IGCC Beta. Additionally, you can refer to this article regarding the studio tab in Intel Graphics Software (IGS) by following this link.
Since I haven't heard back from you, I will proceed with closing this inquiry. If you require further assistance, please feel free to submit a new question, as this thread will no longer be monitored.
Best regards,
Dhanniel M.
