Welcome
I purchased a screen with a resolution (2k) and connected it to a laptop with a processor (i5 10210u) and an external graphics card (mx 130) via a cable (HDMI). I am facing two problems. The first is that the refresh rate is only 60 and the screen supports 165. The second problem is that the highest resolution that appears in the settings is 1080. How can I turn on (2k) For your information, I only use the laptop for office work, not games

jaber-kasem, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.

We will be more than glad to assist you with this matter.

In order for us to provide the most accurate assistance on this scenario, we just wanted to confirm a few details about your system:

Is this a new computer?

What is the model of the monitor?

Were you able to set the refresh rate at 165 and use a higher resolution than 1080 on this specific machine before?

If yes, when did the issue start?

Did you make any recent hardware/software changes that might cause this problem?

Please attach the SSU report so we can verify further details about the components in your platform, check all the options in the report including the one that says "3rd party software logs":

Any questions, please let me know.

Is this a new computer? NO

What is the model of the monitor? https://www.monsternotebook.com.tr/oyuncu-monitoru/aryond-a32-v1-3/

Were you able to set the refresh rate at 165 and use a higher resolution than 1080 on this specific machine before?

No, only on this laptop, the maximum resolution value is 1080 pixels with a refresh rate of 60 Hz

If yes, when did the issue start?

If you want a more explanation about the problem, I bought it two days ago. The problem is that I cannot play it at a resolution of 2560 x 1440 QHD, and it does not have this resolution. It only works at 1080 pixels. Please note that today I connected it to another laptop and it activated 2560 x 1440 QHD automatically while using the same cable. The laptop contains Which played it at the highest resolution on the Intel UHD Graphics 620 graphics card

jaber-kasem, Thank you very much for providing that information and sharing the SSU report.

According to the SSU document, we can confirm that actually your laptop works with a dual-graphics configuration using, Intel(R) UHD Graphics and NVIDIA GeForce MX130. Based on that, it is important to mention, that the manufacturer of the machine has the option to customize everything on their computer, they can enable and disable BIOS settings as well as features and functions of the device in order to comply with the functionality advertised for their product. That means that even if the monitor, like in this case, supports 2560 x 1440 and 165Hz, if the laptop itself does not provide the capability of supporting those settings, those options will not work with this specific machine.

The graphics drivers currently installed in your laptop are version 27.20.100.9664 for the Intel® graphics controller and version 30.0.14.7219 for the Nvidia graphics card. Both of them are provided by Lenovo and customized by them to work with your specific platform:

https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/3-series/ideapad-3-15iml05/downloads/driver-list/component?name=Graphics%20Processing%20Units%20%28GPU%29%20and%20Server-AI%20Accelerators&id=635380F4-448F-4129-AA77-265289D96F6F

Since the problem persists using those drivers, please try a clean installation of Intel® graphics driver version 31.0.101.2125, following the instructions in the links below:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/776137/intel-7th-10th-gen-processor-graphics-windows.html?wapkw=10210u

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000057389/graphics.html

We also suggest to get in contact with Lenovo Support directly to make sure the latest BIOS version is currently installed in your system, or to gather the instructions on how to update it. Also, to verify if they have a more current driver version available for the Nvidia graphics card:

https://support.lenovo.com/us/en

As an option, you can also check with Nvidia support directly as well to confirm if they have a more recent driver version for you to install. I looked on their website and it seems they have newer drivers:

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/support/

Once you get the chance, please let us know the results of trying the steps recommended in this post in order to attempt to get 2560 x 1440 and 165Hz resolution on your laptop.
