problem with HDMI and Intel HD Graphics 4000

After installing the latest drivers from Intel HD Graphics 4000 is no longer output the picture on TV connected via HDMI. When removing intel driver and install a standard driver windows 7 TV through HDMI works in clone mode desktop. If start the installation of the latest drivers from Intel after installation and before rebooting the PC it works perfectly - there is an image on the TV, it can be configured as a clone mode and the extended desktop mode, but after rebooting the image on the TV disappears. How to make the TV displays the image after restart the PC with the latest drivers Intel HD Graphics 4000?

had the same problem on my laptop( windows 7) , did something that might just work for you....so after you connect the hdmi cable you'll go on the bottom - right side of your screen, there should be a battery icon there...right click on that icon then click windows mobility center....a window will appear with many setings for your battery, one of the categories is called "external display" and has a button "connect display", click it and choose "duplicate" option.....hope this helped

Hi, I just bought my desktop for a few days. I'm using Gygabyte h77m-d3h MB, Core i3-3225, HD 4000 with 2 monitors: LG L1960TR (DVI) and LG TV 47LM6410 (D-Sub) and these are the issues I've found:

1/When I only use the monitor without the TV, sometimes the monitor is completely turned of at start-up. The power indicator is off and I have to unplug and replug the cable to get it working again. Never happened with my last desktop.

2/Just like the guys mentioned above if I use extended mode and restart, the TV cannot display properly. It seems like the TV is not recognized. Normally it is named LG TV in both intel and windows display config. But after reboot it's Non PnP Monitor in windows and just Monitor in Intel graphic properties.

I'm using windows 7 64 bit with the latest driver. Actually I tried installing the older driver and the problem with my TV is fixed, but my monitor sometimes still switches off at start up. I'm not using an AV/R.

Hi Hue,

I'm running Windows 8 64 bit, I tried downloading the previous driver from the Intel website and it didn't work for me. Can you tell me how you uninstalled the latest driver and which previous version you installed? I'd appreciate the information.

At this point, I'm thinking of uninstalling the drivers to default back to the default windows default driver and see iif there are any related registry entries which are left over after the uninstall and remove them manually. Followed by a clean install of the latest driver.

I just download the older driver and install it. the will be a prompt asking about a more recent version and whether I want to install the older anyway so I click yes and that's it, I didn't have to un-install anything. On the download page there are only 2 version so I installed the older one, I think it's released in October 2012.

Hi Huy Le,

Thank you for your response. I tried installing the previous driver without uninstalling the current one. It did prompt that I was installing an older driver... Unfortunately, this did not work for me. I'm running Windows 8 64-bit instead of Windows 7.

I hope this issue gets fixed soon, I use my laptop as a media center and having to run the driver setup every time I connect it to the TV is time consuming and inconvenient.

Nic - I'm researching my problem with connecting my new laptop to my old TV and stumbled onto this forum. I see a lot of technical info that seems relevant. I have the Intel HD Graphics 4000 listed in my hardware info. I'm trying to connect my old Sony Triniton TV to my computer via the computers VGA output and into the TV's S-video. I can see the Window logo in black & white in triplicate on the screen (verified with ID as monitor 2 in the control settings-display. I don't have the level of technical skills I see in the discussion. Am I in the right place to ask questions, provide, info, and seek some help? The computer is new and has an HDMI slot but no S-video output port.

Thanks for reply, no luck installing the driver, it extracts the files but wont install. It says my comp doesent meet system requirements, I have checked windows update to see if there are any updates I am missing but I am completely up to date.

Any Ideas?
