A Few Problems --> Driver Update --> Now A Few More

First, let me thank you Intel for a great product.  I have enjoyed being able to take a lot of my graphics settings up a notch or two.

My PC is custom, and I may have made a few mistakes during assembly, but here goes:

This all happens on an ARC A770 LE.

If my computer goes to sleep, the graphics will not reinitiate unless I unplug the HDMI from my Vizio TV/Monitor and plug it back in.

Occasionally I get a bug in Magic The Gathering, Arena where the text is garbled.  It is always in the same location on my monitor.  It goes away usually as that game interaction moves to the next one.

I have had trouble with the Control Panel and at-a-glance stat software.  Sometimes it doesn't start, in fact, I updated to the latest WHQL Windows 11 drivers yesterday and now those apps won't start at all, though an icon appears in System Tray.  I tried the current Beta drivers with no change.

Also after updatingmy driver, the game that came with my LE, Settlers: New Allies has insane "Artifacting" under certain conditions.

Any suggestions guys (or gals)?

Hello TruthGaming

Thank you for posting Intel® ARC™ Graphics Communites. We are sorry you are experiencing different issues with your Intel® Arc™ A770 GPU and at the same time, we sincerely appreciate your support and preference.

Regarding all these different issues we need to keep one issue per thread in order for us to ask for specific information and do recommend specific troubleshooting for each issue in an efficient manner. As general recommendations, I would suggest trying different HDMI/DP cables and a different monitor as some issues since related to the GPU/monitor compatibility, however, if the issues persist please open a new thread for each issue.

We will be focusing this thread on the issue related to Magic The Gathering Arena, please share with us the following information:

  • What distribution service was the game downloaded from?
  • Share a short video or screenshots showing the issue as well as the in-game graphics settings.
  • What steps can be followed to reproduce this issue?
  • Is Resizable BAR enabled on your system?
  • Create a log file with the Intel® System Support Utility and attach it to your response to get more information on the hardware configuration.

Best Regards,

This happens occassionally.  It's always in similar situations in-game.  My troubleshooting as to the surrounding circumstances on the PC have not been successful.

Just saw this, and I will be increasing Quality Level.

I DL'ed this from Wizards of the Coast official site.  Clever Access Memory is enabled.  The problem is intermittent during regular play.

Hello @TruthGaming

Thank you for your reply.

Besides the information requested before please try the following steps and reply with the outcome:

Regarding this issue, we would like to recommend running the Display Driver Uninstaller. Check How to Use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to Uninstall an Intel® Graphics Driver for instructions. Once you run the tool, you should install the latest driver from Intel, 31.0.101.4577. The DDU tool will eliminate all drivers and leftover files from previous driver versions.

Also, check the information provided by the game developer regarding display issues:

Hello TruthGaming

We did some testing using the driver 31.0.101.4577 and were able to reproduce and see the issue that you pointed out with the text of the card being garbled and hard to read, however, there is a newer driver version 31.0.101.4644, upon updating and testing the game again the issue did not longer happen and seemed to be resolved. Please try updating to this latest version and check if the issue gets resolved for you as well. We recommend you do the update using Display Driver Uninstaller to uninstall previous driver files.
