AMD Zen3 CPU with b580 performs poorly

I'm a Ryzen 5 5600 + Arc B580 user, and I just don't get why after all this time, the crappy performance of the Arc B580 on Zen 3 hasn't been fixed yet. Folks have benched the 5600 paired with a 4060 Ti and seen basically zero perf loss, plus with the 5600's 32MB L3 cache, it edges out the 12400F in most games and even tops the 14400F. I bumped my RAM up to dual 16GB 3800 CL16 sticks, and OC'd the CPU to all core 4.7GHz. No clue what's tanking the Arc B580's performance so bad on this platform versus Intel rigs.

Hello Poorman,

Thank you for posting on Intel Community Forum.

To assist you properly, please share the information below.

1. What exactly constitutes "poor performance" (Low FPS in games, System stuttering or freezing)?

2. What monitoring tools are you using?

3. When did you first notice the poor performance?

Additionally, to have a better understanding of your system configuration and components please generate System Support Utility (SSU) report. Please follow instructions here and send the report - How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows*

I look forward to your response.

It has all the issues u mentioned. I'm using MSI Afterburner with an b580 graphics card, which should theoretically outperform the 4060, but in actual gameplay, it doesn't feel that way at all. It's basically performing like a 3060 on my Ryzen 5600 setup. I tried grabbing data with SSU, but besides picking up some basic hardware details, the rest is pretty much all errors down below. Right now, aside from God of War Ragnarok hitting the performance it should, stuff like Battlefield 1, the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, CS2, and other online games are all dealing with real results that fall way short of the theoretical specs
How do I send ssu here? Do u have an email ?

When I'm playing Valorant, the game's 0.1% low FPS suddenly drops from around 300 frames to just a few dozen. This happens in almost every game. So far, I've only avoided it while playing God of War 5. All the reviews show that the B580 has major performance losses when paired with older platforms like Zen 3. I figured you guys would fix it with driver or VBIOS updates, but sadly, after all this time, it's still an issue.

Hello Poorman,

Thank you for sharing all this information.

You can attach the SSU report here or if you prefer, I can send you an email and you can attach it there. Additionally, kindly get a CapFrame data and ensure to play the game for at least 5 minutes to we can compare the values you are getting on our end.

I look forward to your response.

Hello Poorman,

To gather the CapFrame data, you may follow the steps below.

Installation instructions:

  1. Go to https://www.capframex.com/download and download the latest version of CapframeX.
  2. Go to https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/rtss-rivatuner-statistics-server-download.html and download the latest version of RTSS.
  3. Unzip both installers and install them.
  4. Launch CapFrameX and then close it. This is so it creates the user Configuration folder.
  5. Download and unzip the file OverlayEntryConfiguration_0.json (attached in this post) with the recommended RTSS configuration.
  6. Paste this file to %userprofile%\Documents\CapFrameX\Configuration.
  7. In the Capture tab, set the "Capture time" to 0. This is to remove the preset limit in capture time.
  8. In the Overlay tab, uncheck "Auto-Disable OSD" and click the save icon.

Capturing the Performance Data:

  1. Open CapframeX and do NOT minimize or close it.
  2. Open the game and go to the part of the game you need to be to reproduce the issue. You should see the RTSS overlay in the top left corner of your screen, with the status "<game name> ready to capture…".
  3. Press F11 to start capturing data and reproduce the issue. The Status in the overlay will change to "Recording frametimes XX s".
  4. Once you have reproduced the issue, press F11 to finish the data capturing. The Status in the overlay will change to "Processing data".
  5. Back to CapFrameX, you can find all the data captures in the left panel of the Analysis tab. Clicking any one of these captures will display the results on the right.
  6. To export the data captured as a JSON file, right click the capture and click on "Copy/paste recording file(s)".

Hello Poorman,

Thanks for sharing the YouTube video showing the issue.

We really appreciate your effort in helping us understand what’s happening. Our drivers are regularly updated, and these updates often fix problems that users experience

To properly look into the issue you're reporting, we need the information we asked for earlier. This will help us analyze the situation more accurately. Also, it would be very helpful if the screen recording shows your own experience with the issue.

We kindly request that you share the System Support Utility (SSU) report along with the CapFrame data so we can proceed with our investigation accordingly.

Additionally, may we ask for clarification on why CapFrame cannot be used in your current setup? Understanding this will help us better assist you and explore alternative solutions if necessary.

Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Because I don't know how to use it, it's too complicated. My SSU can't read all the data. I don't know why. I reported this problem to Intel technicians in our country a few months ago. I have to reinstall win10 to read it successfully, which is too troublesome. When can you fix these issues? This is not an architectural issue, is it?

Just out of curiosity. Did you disable AMD cool n quiet in BIOS?? And enable rebar in bios?  I have found that after I disabled cool N quiet. The ARC B580 performance jumped up by 50%

Also, you have to set your power plan in windows to high performance.
