Hello,
I recently started using an Intel B580 graphics card and encountered a serious issue in the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw. Whenever I use the masking feature, the program crashes with the following error:
“The graphics processor has encountered an unrecoverable error and GPU acceleration has been disabled for the rest of the session due to a runtime error.”
This problem is 100% reproducible on my system. It severely affects my workflow because I rely on AI Denoise, which becomes extremely slow when it runs only on the CPU.
My observations:
CPU: Intel 265K
System: Fresh installation, no AMD or NVIDIA drivers have ever been installed
When masking is applied, GPU memory usage spikes sharply in Task Manager, then the crash occurs, and afterwards memory usage returns to normal
This issue makes the GPU unusable for my photo editing tasks. I am from China and I am communicating here using ChatGPT for translation, so please excuse any language mistakes.
Could you please help me troubleshoot or provide a solution?
Thank you.

Thank you for posting here in our community. To effectively diagnose and address the issue you're experiencing, I kindly ask you to provide detailed responses to the following questions. This information will help us isolate the problem and determine the most appropriate course of action.
- Please provide the SSU log report and share it here so I can review your system's configuration.
- What version of Adobe application are you currently using? (You can check this by going to Help > About in Adobe.)
- Could you please provide the link to download the application?
- What version of your operating system is currently installed?
- What is the typical file size and resolution when the crashes occur?
- Does the issue persist when running the system in Safe Mode?
- What happens when you manually disable GPU acceleration?
- Are you running any other GPU-intensive applications at the same time?
- What is the wattage and efficiency rating of your power supply unit (PSU)?
- Are there any pending or recently installed Windows updates?
- Have you performed a clean uninstall using DDU and updated your graphics driver to the latest version?
I look forward to your response and am committed to resolving your issue promptly.

Hello,
I am using the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw (17.5), which I downloaded from the official Adobe website: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html. My system is running Windows 11 version 24H2 26100.6584, and I am experiencing a crash when using the masking feature.
Here are the details:
File Size: 36 MB
Resolution: 33 MP
GPU Issue: When using the masking feature, the program crashes with the error: "The graphics processor has encountered an unrecoverable error and GPU acceleration has been disabled for the rest of the session due to a runtime error."
System Configuration:
CPU: Intel 265K
PSU: 850W, ATX 3.1, 80Plus Platinum
No other GPU-intensive applications are running at the same time
AI Denoise: When I manually disable GPU acceleration, other features work fine, but AI denoise becomes extremely slow as it only uses the CPU. It should ideally be handled by the GPU for faster processing.
I have not yet tested Safe Mode, but I plan to do so soon. Additionally, I will try to cleanly uninstall and reinstall the graphics driver to see if that resolves the issue.
Could you please assist me with troubleshooting this issue?
Thank you.
