Upon upgrading to the latest driver Arc driver 31.0.101.4824 on my Acer Predator BiFrost A770 Windows 11 fails to display the desktop. The screen is black upon reboot after a clean driver install. The mouse is visible and will move with the movement of the mouse. Pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del to try to get the task manager to open has no impact.
Booting Windows into safe mode I am able to reinstall the last beta driver 31.0.101.4676 and windows will boot successfully.
Are there any work arounds to the Black screen issue outside of installing older driver?

tfp,
I can confirm with you as well that the Windows 11 Pro Insider Preview 25967, only works with the 4676 Arc Drivers.
I recieved an Asrock 16GB A770 yesterday 10/13/2023, and recieved a black screen upon install of the current version 4887.
I tried to systematically so through every driver backwards to see which was stable enough until I did not produce a black screen upon reboot.
4676 is the only one.
I currently dropped out of release previews with Windows Insider until the new Public Build, and hopefully Microsoft and Intel can play nice and get this fixed.
Best,
jfitzgerald

jfitzgerald,
Did you reinstall a non-Preview version of Windows 11? I am not looking forward to a clean install.

Not until there is a new Windows 11 build from the normal windows update channel.
This driver is relatively stable with the games that I play and do get relatively high frame rates.

Fair enough. I submitted something through the feedback channel. Feel free to pile on.

I might keep taking the update for now.

I am also experiencing the same issue. This has been a more frequent issue with the Windows 11 Insider builds. As of this morning it happened again, and no version of the Arc GPU driver will resolve the issue.
Windows 11 Insider 25967.
Intel Arc A380
This also happens on another machine with the Arc A750.
Upon booting, all monitors are black and go to sleep. I tried to roll back to 4676 and started getting crashes about "INTERNAL_VIDEO_SCHEDULER"
My only solution is to switch to my backup Nvidia 1660 card.

Hi Andres,
I was out of town so I was unable to respond. The issues is not resolved in the more resent Win11 OS builds.
At some point this needs to be address between Intel and MSFT,

Hello tfp
I see from your previous post that the issue is not happening on a stable Windows 10 installation, this can indicate the issue is related to the Insider Build of Windows 11, however, it would be better to test a stable Windows 11 instead of Windows 10 to make sure if the issue only happens on the latest Insider versions.
If the issue persists on a stable Windows 11 we can continue to review and investigate the problem, however, if the problem is only happening on the Insider Preview, please report this issue to Microsoft since they ask for the feedback to be reported to them first since Insider Preview build are in constant development and can have all sort of problems.

Hello tfp
As advised in our previous post, if this is only happening on the Insider Preview builds of Windows report this issue to Microsoft so they can gather your feedback. In case the issue continues to happen in a stable Windows build feel free to reach back to us for further assistance. At the moment, since there are no further questions we will be closing this thread. We appreciate your understanding.

Just a quick update. The black screen issue is resolved with Build 25977. The 4887 driver no longer give a blackscreen.
Thanks again

Dev channel, is updated every week. Older than Canary, so has less bugs. Canary channel, is updated every or most days. Is the latest version and has the most bugs.
you shouldnt be using canary if you want to report bugs here. as there are bound to be tons of windows issues.
even dev would be a better option for you..
