First attempt at getting this resolved
My PC had some hardware issues that came first, but as the title says, DI2 is unplayable.
I'm getting maybe 5-10 fps on ultra low settings, creating a blurry mess, with a B580, a Ryzen 5 7600, and 32 GB of DDR5 Ram.
I've done all the suggested steps, my drivers are up-to-date (32.0.101.6653).

Hi TheKrueg,
Thank you for posting in the Community.
To assist you further, could you please provide the following information?
- Game Details:
- Could you specify where in the game the low FPS occurs? Are there particular scenes or actions that trigger the performance drop?
- Game Settings:
- Please provide a screenshot of your current game settings. This will help us understand your configuration and identify any potential adjustments.
- Updated SSU Log:
- Since you've updated to the latest driver version (32.0.101.6653), I recommend running the Intel System Support Utility (SSU) again to generate a new report. This will give us detailed information about your system configuration and help us diagnose the issue more effectively.
- CapFrameX Data:
- To further analyze the performance issue, please follow the instructions provided in this link to capture data using CapFrameX. This tool will provide valuable insights into your system's performance during gameplay.
Your cooperation in providing this information is greatly appreciated and will help us expedite the troubleshooting process. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out.
Thank you for your patience and support.
Best regards,
Dean R.

Hi TheKrueg,
Thank for your cooperation for providing this information. I recommend using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to remove any existing graphics drivers, followed by installing the latest Intel graphics driver.
Here’s how you can proceed:
- You can download DDU from here: How to Use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to Uninstall an.... This tool will help ensure a clean removal of your current graphics drivers. Follow the instructions provided on the website to safely uninstall your existing graphics drivers. Make sure to run DDU in Safe Mode for optimal results.
- Once the old drivers are removed, download the latest Intel graphics driver from here: Intel® Arc™ & Iris® Xe Graphics - Windows*, version 32.0.101.6653.
Let me know if the issue still persists.

Hello, TheKrueg.
I appreciate your patience in this matter. To assist you further and help replicate the issue, could you kindly let me know which gaming platform you're using to play Dead Island 2? Whether it’s Xbox, Steam, Epic Games, or another platform, this information will help me acquire the game and better investigate the issue.
Additionally, if possible, could you please provide a new CapFrameX result with at least 2-3 minutes of gameplay? The previous data you provided was under 30 seconds, which doesn't offer enough information for a thorough analysis. Once I have these details, I’ll be able to dive deeper into the issue and work toward a solution.
Best regards,
Von M.

Hello, TheKrueg.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and for providing valuable data to help us investigate the issue further. I would like to inform you that I tested the game on an Intel® Arc™ B580 Graphics card running Windows 11 24H2 with driver version 32.0.101.6734. Based on my testing, I was unable to replicate the performance issue you described. For your reference, you may view my test recording here: Dead Island 2 Intel Arc B580 Test
To help me properly isolate the cause on your system, I kindly ask you to try the following recommendations:
- Disable the integrated graphics in BIOS to test if the game might be running on it instead of the B580 GPU.
- In Windows -> Settings -> Display -> Graphics -> Advanced Graphics Settings -> Disable "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling".
- In Intel Graphics Software -> reset any overclocking settings to defaults.
- In Windows -> Settings -> Power -> make sure it is set to "Best Performance".
Upon reviewing the CapFrameX data you provided, I noticed that during low FPS events, the GPU clock and power draw appear significantly lower than expected (~400MHz and 20W). In contrast, during my testing, I observed normal values reaching ~2800MHz and 127W, which suggests a potential configuration or power delivery discrepancy.
Please verify the following as well:
-
Ensure your power supply meets the minimum 600W requirement for the Intel Arc B580 GPU.
-
If the PSU is adequate, consider reinstalling the game to rule out any installation-related issues.
I appreciate your efforts and attention to these recommendations. If the issue persists after performing the steps above, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I'll be glad to further in-depth investigate this matter.
Best regards,
Von M.

I'm using a 650W PSU and there's no way that I'm running off of integrated graphics because I can run Sniper Elite: Resistance with no issues. I'll check on the Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling and report back.

Hello, TheKrueg.
Thank you for the update and for confirming your setup. It’s helpful to know that you're using a 650W PSU and a discrete GPU, especially given your ability to run Sniper Elite: Resistance without issues, which certainly rules out integrated graphics as the active display output.
I also appreciate you checking the Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling setting. Since that change had no effect, I'll continue looking into other potential root causes. If you're open to it, we can proceed with the next round of diagnostics to further isolate the issue.
I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Best regards,
Von M.

Hello, TheKrueg.
Thank you for your continued engagement and for the detailed information you've provided previously. Following our internal testing, I observed that when running the game with both AMD integrated graphics and the Intel® Arc™ GPU present, the system defaults to the AMD integrated graphics. This behavior appears to be driven by how the game is coded and may indicate that it is not currently optimized to recognize or prioritize Intel Arc graphics.
To help confirm this, I kindly ask that you disable the AMD integrated graphics directly from your system’s BIOS settings and then relaunch the game to observe any changes in performance or behavior. Once you've made this adjustment, please run the Intel® System Support Utility (SSU) again and share the updated report with me. This will allow me to verify that the system is utilizing the Intel Arc GPU correctly and help ensure the most accurate troubleshooting moving forward.
I appreciate your efforts and patience in helping me get to the bottom of this. Please let me know the outcome of these steps at your earliest convenience.
Best regards,
Von M.

Hello, TheKrueg.
I appreciate you sharing that SSU info. Sorry for the confusion. Could you kindly confirm whether you've already disabled the AMD integrated graphics through the system BIOS and relaunched the game to observe any changes in performance or behavior? Additionally, has this adjustment resolved the issue?
Best regards,
Von M.

Yes and yes. Low setting still play like a shopping cart handles. Medium is oddly smoother. I still want to drill down further. On low settings, it's jittery and turning in game gives me headaches. Medium settings don't have that problem. I feel like this game just doesn't play nice with the B580. My prebuilt RTX3050 backup has no issues with DI, and the B580 stomps the the RTX3050 in terms of specs by any measure.
Is DI just not optimized for Intel Graphics?
