Hi,
Not so much a question, but more of a solution post to try and help anyone else with this issue
PC specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 7700x
32gb memory
Intel Arc A770 16GB
Asus TUF B650m plus
Windows 11 24H2
Intel Arc Graphics Driver 32.0.101.6793
Epic Launcher 1.3.142.0
Issue:
Recently I have picked up Dead Island 2 from the Epic Games store, upon launching the game the frame rate was incredibly low (around 5fps) - changing graphics settings and rebooting had no effect.
Investigation:
When opening task manager with the game running, my integrated graphics (AMD Radeon Graphics) was at maximum usage while my intel Arc GPU was sat at 10%.
- Tried to force the game to use the Arc GPU in the 'Graphics Settings' option in Windows but this did not work.
- Also tried setting launch options on the game in the Epic store library, but this has not worked either.
Solution currently:
I have found that disabling the integrated GPU in device manager appears to force the game to use the Arc GPU and it runs normally. However I am not particularly keen on doing this just in case my GPU dies (No offense Intel!).
Conclusion:
I have noticed that there is a similar post with the B580, but no-one has mentioned it happening on the A770 yet, but I can confirm it appears to be the same issue.
Not sure if it is the way the game picks a GPU or if it is the way the Epic Launcher starts the game that causes this?
I frequently use my A770 to play games like Oblivion remastered, S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2, Dying Light and the old Dead island games on Steam and they all work as normal.

Hello FinalEcho133,
Thank you for posting on Intel Community Forum.
We really appreciate the workaround that you shared with your fellow community members and I understand that you're not keen on doing this in case the GPU dies. Kindly share the information below so we can investigate further.
1. Have you had the chance to test the Intel Arc A770 GPU in a different system to see if the same issue will be observed?
2. Is Resizable BAR and 4G decoding enabled?
3. Did you use DDU prior to installing the latest driver version 32.0.101.6793?
Additionally, to have a better understanding of your system configuration and components please generate System Support Utility (SSU) report. Please follow instructions here and send the report - How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows*
I hope to hear from you soon.
Best regards,

Hi JedG,
No worries! So to answer your questions:
- Unfortunately I do not have another device I can test the GPU in.
- Yes, ReBAR and 4G decoding is enabled in the BIOS.
- No, I have not used DDU to uninstall the old driver prior to installing the latest version.
I will send you the SSU report of my system in a direct message.
