Diablo 4 Crashing and Performance Issues

1. I am using the 4514 Beta driver and confirm it was installed using DDU in safe mode. I previously tried 4502 WHQL driver but experienced constant crashes and FPS stutters making Diablo 4 unplayable. I mainly play using 4382 Beta driver. While this is the most stable driver so far, it still has issues with performance. The FPS drops from an average of 80-100~ to 40-60~ after 30-60 minutes of play time. I finally decided to post as it's been an extremely frustrating experience playing Diablo 4.

2. Diablo 4 from Battle.net.

3. Intel SSU report is attached.

4. I am currently using 4514 Beta driver. The game is crashing randomly, roughly once every hour. I don't believe there is a specific action in game that is causing the crashes. I will start documenting every crash and update the thread as needed.

Crashes

  • 7/3/2023: Crashed when porting to town after completing a dungeon (occurred 4 times), crashed when talking to a vendor (occurred 1 time), BSOD error 'video_TDR_failure' aftering porting to town from a random spot in the world (occurred 1 time), crashed when porting to a town from another town (occurred 1 time)

Summary of Issues with Multiple Drivers

  • 4514 Beta: game crashing every hour, FPS stutters
  • 4502 WHQL: game crashing multiple times per hour, FPS stutters
  • 4382 Beta: FPS drops from an average of 80-100 to 40-60 after 30-60 minutes of gameplay, restarting the game fixes this temporarily

Hello,

I have installed the new driver and will be testing it out tonight. Below are the screenshots of the graphics settings I'm using (default high, Intel XeSS set to performance).

Crashed twice so far. Here is a screenshot of the error message of the second crash. I was teleporting to town after finishing a nightmare dungeon. The first crash happened when I teleported from town to a new nightmare dungeon I opened from a sigil.

Hello everyone,

We appreciate your patience in waiting for an update regarding this process.

We want to inform you that there is a new driver update, which contains different fixes for several issues. We want to advise you to test the new driver version 31.0.101.4644.

In case the issue is still present, help us to collect crash dump files to analyze them:

  • When the game crashes, a new dump file should be created under any of the following folders:
    • User-mode Application Crash dump: C:\AppCrashDumps
    • Small memory dump file: %SystemRoot%\Minidump (default)
    • LiveKernelReports: %SystemRoot%\Windows\LiveKernelReports
    • Complete/active memory dump file: %SystemRoot%\MEMORY.DMP (default)
    • App-specific dumps: Location is set by the application
  • Upload the dump file to your preferred file-sharing system (OneDrive, Google Drive, etc.).
  • You can check the advanced troubleshooting guide for more information about how to enable debugging logs.

We hope you are doing fine.

We wanted to jump in the thread to confirm if you have been able to test the game using the new driver, or gather the crash dump files we requested previously.

Fenris Error like this are common DIablo 4 Error

Try this : Disable Peripheral lighting Diablo 4 graphic option and try the game.

Or try this (at least to test) : Reduce Max Foreground/Background FPS to 60 and try the game

Hello everyone,

@Spicy, we understand that you may need additional time. Please let us know once you have finished testing and share the outcome with us. If you require more time, don't hesitate to inform us. We will wait for your response.

@Hypnotized45, based on the error message you provided, it doesn't seem to be related to the Graphics Card. However, we would appreciate it if you could provide us with the dump files we requested earlier. You can use your preferred file-sharing system and share the files with us through a link. The steps may differ depending on the application you use. Check with the developer for additional instructions. You can also refer to the following articles for OneDrive and Google Drive.
