Hello, how do I enable downsampling through arc control like dynamic resolution scaling from Nvidia or virtual resolution scaling from Amd?

Hello TheWonderfulPie,

Thank you for posting on the Intel communities. I see that you want to know how to enable downsampling through Intel® Arc™ Control, I understand how important is this for you, I will be happy to help you.

I will start with an investigation and as soon I have further information I will let you know.

Hello TheWonderfulPie,

Thank you for your time.

I have been working on the investigation, we support two techniques for this kind of supersampling: Multisample anti-aliasing and Conservative morphological anti-aliasing. This is enabled on a per-app basis so the app/game dev must implement it in their Graphics settings for Anti-Aliasing.

Thanks but I was not talking about this. I am not talking about MSAA, but downsampling, which is not MSAA

Hello TheWonderfulPie,

Thank you for your response, and clarification.

I understand that you are not talking specifically about MSAA, but the two techniques available on Intel® Arc™ Graphics that are similar like dynamic resolution scaling from Nvidia or virtual resolution scaling from AMD are Multisample anti-aliasing and Conservative morphological anti-aliasing.

If you are looking for a different kind of technology please let us know and we are more than glad to hear any comments.

They're similar, but not the same

MSAA can only be used in certain games, but I don't need it for games right now I need it for softwares that are not game

And MSAA isn't Intel-specific whatsoever, it's not a "feature" per se

Nvidia's Dynamic Resolution Scaling and AMD's Virtual Resolution Scaling are both real downsampling features, as easy as choosing "4K" or "1440p" when you have a 1080p display and that you have enabled DRS/VRS
