Intel ARC A770 iRacing Ui and paint shop problem

Hi,
Since last December, I get a black screen for a moment when I start iRacing UI. This error does not always occur about 1-2 of 10 times. Event viewer refers to a GSCx64 error (The intel grapics system controller firmware interface is being reset).
Also, since last year, in the paint shop I can't see the 3D model of the cars (I get a transparent screen). I reported the problem to iRacing support, but unfortunately nothing helped. This error also occurred on my old setup.
I have had this problem since one of the December driver updates, but it has also occurred with the .6449 driver and the .6732 driver.
My old setup had the same problem with .6325 driver. If I remember correctly, there was no problem with the June/July driver last year.
The game itself runs smoothly.
The motherboard bios up to date.
Currently I am using the .6732 driver.
My setup:
CPU: i5 14600kf
GPU: Intel ARC A770 LE 16gb
MB: ASRock Z790 PG Riptide
RAM:2x16gb ddr5
OS: Win 11 Pro 24H2 26100.3775
PSU: FSP 850W 80+bronze
(Old setup: 11600kf/gigabyte z590i vision d/ 32gb ram)
I have observed that after multiple starts a day, I can get a black screen any time I launch the UI. When this happens I notice that the screen freezes and then goes black for 1-2 seconds.
The other error is constant in the paint shop.

Thank you for your help!

Hi Baazs95,

Thank you for reaching out to the Intel Community Forum regarding the issue you've encountered with iRacing about the black screen occurrence and the transparency issue in the paint shop. To assist us in investigating the issue, please provide the following details:

    1. When the black screen occurs, do you notice any specific patterns or actions that might trigger it, aside from multiple starts a day?
    2. Regarding the paint shop issue, does the transparent screen affect all car models, or is it specific to certain ones?
    3. Have you used DDU to completely remove all residual drivers and installed a new one?
    4. Have you tried adjusting the graphics settings?
    5. Did you verify the game files or reinstall the game?
    6. Could you provide a screenshot of your in-game display and graphics settings?
    7. Which gaming platform did you use to download the game?

Additionally, to gain a comprehensive understanding of your system, please use the System Support Utility (SSU). This tool will generate a text file compiling all your system information. Hi,

1. I don't notice anything that could be related to the bug. When I start Ui after the small loading window when the application window comes in the image freezes, the mouse does not move and for a moment I get a black screen. When the image comes back up I see the welcome iracing sign and it loads fine. Event veiwer shows the error code as above.
2. The error occurs for all car models. I attach the image.
3. Yes.
4. I tried yes, nothing changed. I ran the graphics config again on the Ui. Nothing changed. https://support.iracing.com/support/solutions/articles/31000162487-quick-troubleshooting-guide-customizing-vehicles I tried all these steps but it didn't solve the problem.
5. Yes
6. Yes, I attach the picture
7. I downloaded the installer for iracing ui from the official iRacing.com website (Not steam version)

Can I send you the SSU file in private message?

Hi Baazs95,

We conducted tests using our Arc A770 graphics card with driver version 32.0.101.6734 and were unable to replicate the screen blackout issue you described.

However, we did observe that the car model is not visible when viewed in the Paint shop. I will be looking more into this for further investigation, and I will be sharing an update once it's available.

If you have any additional information or questions, please feel free to reach out. Thank you.

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback.

The black screen error is very rare.
Could you check if, at the time of iRacing Ui startup, you have a hardware failure entry in the reliability history log?
I wrote another email about this on Monday (04.21)

I patiently await your feedback on the paint shop or the above mentioned entry.

Thank you

Hi Baazs95,

Following our investigation and replication of the issue you reported, I have identified that updating your graphics driver will resolve the problem. I recommend updating to your driver 32.0.101.6874 WHQL Certified to the latest version, 32.0.101.6881 WHQL Certified.

Before proceeding with the update, please ensure you perform a clean installation using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU). This will help prevent any conflicts or issues during the installation process.

If you have any additional information or questions, please feel free to reach out. Thank you.

Hi,

I downloaded the latest driver.
The bug is solved, I can see the 3d model of the cars perfectly.
The iRacing UI startup also seems to be smoother. And in the windows view reability history it no longer logs hardware errors at the time of UI launch.

One bug I've encountered at this time, is in the shop, for cars that are not downloaded, when entering the 3d model menu (where the button says download) the window that opens will start to flicker.
Obviously this is no big deal, just thought I'd let you know.

Thanks for the help and the fix!
