Has anyone tried pairing the Arc B580 with a Ryzen 7 3800X?
If so, how was the performance?
I'm considering buying the B580, but I've come across information suggesting a significant performance loss with older CPUs, so I'm not sure if it's a good idea.

Very likely close to the 3600 results Arc B580 Overhead Issue, Ryzen 5 3600, 5600, R7 5700X3D & R5 7600: CPU-Limited Testing
Whether the 3800X is closer to the 5600 or the 3600 I don't know, you'd have to look at some CPU benchmarks for that.

Arc B580 is Intel's newer discrete GPU, and when pairing it with a Ryzen 7 3800X, you're working with an older AMD CPU based on the Zen 2 architecture, which might lead to some interesting results
From what is known so far, the Ryzen 7 3800X could experience a slight bottleneck when paired with a more powerful GPU like the Arc B580, though the actual impact on gaming or productivity tasks can vary depending on the specific application or workload. Ryzen 7 3800X is an 8-core, 16-thread processor and performs decently in most tasks. However, when paired with a GPU like the Arc B580, which could be more powerful than what the 3800X is optimized for, you may encounter some limitations in highly CPU-bound scenarios, especially in gaming at lower resolutions where the CPU has to do more work. At higher resolutions (1440p or 4K), the GPU becomes more of the limiting factor, and the bottleneck would shift more towards the GPU
