Hello,
I installed a Intel Arc A770 16GB in my pc, i did a clean install Windows 11 22H2 with all the latest drivers and i have randomly at boot or reboot The vga card is not supported by uefi driver problem.
The bios screen shows this problem see screenshot.
When this happens csm gets enabled in the bios.
The latest vbios is installed v20.1053.0.
I found on the Intel forum a similar post with similar pc specs, same eufi driver not supported problem. His problem was fix with vbios v 1053.
AMD processor with a X570 MB and a Asus monitor.
My pc specs are:
Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming Bios v4602
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D @ 3.4 GHz
G.SKILL F4-3200C14D-16GFX
Intel Arc A770 16GB
Asus TUF Gaming VG249QM1A @ 240 Hz
Seasonic Prime PX-650
Windows 11 Home - 22H2

Erwin

I have very similar specs as you and happened across the exact same issue though I have been using the card since release. I tried a few things and was able to narrow it down to CSM being enabled in the motherboard bios. I had it enabled and intel arc used to work fine with it until today. Disabling the setting allowed it to boot just fine. It is in the intel arc requirements to have it disabled as well which makes sense though I am not sure if that is a recent thing or not. Hopefully this helps out. I had to reset my bios settings to default to narrow it down.
If it matters here are my specs
ROG Strix B550-F Gaming Wi-Fi v3002
Ryzen 9 5900X
Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4-3600 CL18
Intel Arc A770 16GB
Corsair HX750 Platinum
Windows 11 Pro - 22H2

There is only 1 problem with enabling CSM and that is that Resizable Bar doesnt work anymore.
When enabling Resizable Bar, CSM has to be disabled in the bios.

When i boot my pc or reboot sometimes i get The vga card is not supported by uefi driver
and CSM gets enabled in the bios, my pc boots when CSM is enabled.
Defaulting the bios doesnt help, default CSM is set to disable, and i always have to set DOCP in the bios.
Hope Intel get this fixed.

Hello Erwin06
Thank you for posting on the Intel® ARC™ Graphics Communities. I am sorry you are experiencing issues these boot issues when using your Intel® Arc™ A770 Graphics. we would like to get the following information from you to further look into this issue:
- Does the issue happen at every reboot, or is it random? Are you able to trigger it in any specific way?
- Create a log file with the Intel® System Support Utility and attach it to your response.
- Create a System report following these instructions. Only use the instructions under Intel Graphics Command Center (Intel GCC)
Best Regards,

Hello Hugo,
Like the titel says its a random problem, and i only have it when i do a clean install windows 11+ updates.
After the updates i start installing the drivers, 1st the chipset driver then LAN, Wifi, Blue tooth drivers.
After a driver is installed i reboot the pc and then i got this problem.
When all the drivers are installed it doesnt happen again, maybe because the intel driver is installed I guess.
I cant make a log file because it happens on boot before windows 11 starts.
Because more people have this problem with simiral pc specs i think that it is a vbios problem.
Regards,
Erwin

Hello,
Today i tested my pc why i get the vga card is not supported by the EUFI driver.
I did a clean install several times untill this problem happend, the led on the mb was green the Qled code 02 and on the screen the vga card is not supported by the eufi driver.
I looked on the internet for Qcode 02 i found many people have the same problem.
I installed windows on a different ssd but still the same problem.
I will now go back to a older bios version.
Will still test this for the rest of the day.
regards,
Erwin

Yesterday i did a compleet test, i tested this problem with 3 different video cards and 1 different monitor with a DP cable.
With all 3 video cards i get the white VGA led on the MB and the monitor screen goes black.
This rules out that the Intel card is the problem.
Then i used a HDMI cable and i didnt get this problem.
The MB must have a problem on the DP side.
The solution is connect a HDMI cable.

Erwin

Hello,
I tested this problem some more, the problem isnt coming from the MB, but the Asus monitor is causing this white LED and the vga card isnt supported by the eufi driver.
Only new Asus monitors have this problem.
It only happens when a display port cables is used, with a HDMI cable u dont see this problem.
The problem also started when i bought this monitor but only with the white LED.
When i installed the intel card i saw the vga card is not supported by the eufi driver.
If Asus doesnt come with a fix i wil RMA the monitor.

Erwin

Hello Erwin06
I see that you have run some more tests and found out that the issue only happens on DisplayPort. Could you please let us know the models of the GPUs you tested? Also, based on your previous posts I also see that after all Windows and driver updates are installed the issue no longer happens, Does this allow you to use either HDMI or DP connection?
In addition, I would appreciate it if you could share with us the log files requested in my previous post that you can generate through Windows, so we can further look into this issue.

Hello,
I tested on the same system with a Asus GTX1070, Asus GTX760, and the Intel Arc A770.
The 2 Asus card only have the white VGA boot LED and black screen, and the Intel card also the driver is not supported by the eufi driver.
when all drivers where installed i used a display port cable.
Do i need to have all the divers to be installed to get the logs files or only the chipset and ARC driver?
I will do a clean install windows 11 22H2+updates then install the chipset driver and the ARC driver then reboot till i get this problem and then make a log fill.
Regards,
Erwin

Hello,
I connected the monitor to my old pc when i did a reboot i also saw the red VGA led turned on,
this means that this Asus monitor has a problem with the signal over DP and HDMI, i will RMA this monitor to the shop.

Erwin

Hello Erwin06
Thank you for sharing the log files with us. I see that you suspect the issue might be coming from the monitor itself. Just to confirm, does the old system that you tested also have an Intel® Arc™ GPU in it, or was it a different one?

Hello Erwin06
Thank you for letting us know. In this case, since it seems the issue might be coming from the monitor as it happens with different GPUs, we will be closing this thread. However, if the issue persists after getting a replacement monitor, feel free to open a new topic to further assist you.
