G'evening!
When I have a game open, in this case WoW: Classic, I get a flickering if I have certain things at the forefront on my second screen - WhatsApp web, YouTube, Twitch, WoWHead (when it has video ads playing).
I have an Acer Predator A770.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Drivers are: 31.0.101.4369
Any and all support is welcome!

Hello JP117
Thank you for posting on the Intel® ARC™ Graphics Communites. I am sorry you are experiencing flickering screen issues on your system.
Please share with us the following information to further assist with this issue:
- Is this the only game affected by this issue? Have you tested any other games?
- Was this issue happening with the previous driver 31.0.101.4314?
- Is Resizable BAR enabled on your system?
- Share a screenshot of the in-game graphic settings.
- Create a log file with the Intel® System Support Utility and attach it to your response for more information on the hardware configuration.

Hi Hugo,

- It's worst in WOW, but it has happened in Diablo4 and Among Us.
- Was this issue happening with the previous driver 31.0.101.4314?
- I've only had the card installed for about 3 weeks, so this was my first driver. It's happening on driver - 31.0.101.4382

Hello JP117
Thank you for the information. In this case, we would advise the following:
- Uninstall the current driver using Display Driver Uninstaller(DDU). Once installed reinstall the driver version 31.0.101.4382 or 31.0.101.4369. If the issue persists with those drivers just for testing our[oses also try the driver version 31.0.101.4314. as well in case you had previous graphics AMD or NVIDIA uninstall those drivers by selecting the corresponding manufacturer on step 6 of the DDU process.
- Update your BIOS to the latest version. Based on your motherboard manufacturer's website there are a few updates on your BIOS from the one you have currently installed so it would be better to update to ensure full compatibility.
- Tried different cables.
If the issue still persists, please share with us this other information:
- While having both monitors connected to the system, Create a System report following these instructions. Only use the instructions under Intel Graphics Command Center (Intel GCC): Report for Intel® Graphics Drivers
- Are you using any type of video adapters?

I also encountered this issue
我也遇到了此问题
I have two 4K monitors
我是两个4K显示器
When one of them runs a DX11 full screen game,The other display screen will continuously flash black
当其中一个运行DX11全屏游戏时,另一个显示屏会不间断的黑屏闪烁
Currently, FF14 is the game that can clearly reproduce this fault
In addition, the drivers that experience this phenomenon are only above 4255, which means that starting from 43XX, both the beta and official versions exist

Hi Hugo.
I've ran the DDU, as I did when Installed the new GPU, and I have updated my bios. I've also changed over cables.
Fingers crossed!
I'll come back and update after a day or two of use.
Kind regards,
JP

Hi Hugo,
The flickering is still there. I am noticing it when playing a video in full screen now.
I'll change cables, and move round monitors to see if it's not GPU related.
I'll update over the next few days.

Hi Hugo,
I tried changing cables, etc and no luck. I have since changed my display from 144hz to 60hz, which matches my second monitor, and no flickering so far!
I'll put in a good gaming session later on, then report back.
Cheers, JP!

Hello JP117
Thank you for the update. I understand that you will be testing the system while using the same refresh rate. In case the issue happens on that configuration, please let's try driver 31.0.101.4255 and check if the monitors can be used at their corresponding refresh rate based on @AsakuraYuuta there was no issue on that driver so it would be useful to know if this is a regression issue we might need to further investigate.

I see my screen frequently start to go blank when I start my favourite game Elite, and with the last two or three drivers it happens on my 165Hz gaming monitor on startup, no game needed to trigger it. (Sadly Elite won't work at all since 31.0.101.4255).
This does not permanently fix the issue, but I find the following key combination when the flickering starts:-
shift+ctrl+win+b
does fix the issue in the current session.
My limited understanding is that this key combination restarts the graphics subsystem.
It may be possible that you hit a situation that could re-trigger the blanking in the short term, but certainly for me it fixes the issue until my next session.
I hope this is helpful,
Regards,
Steve

Hello JP117
How is the driver 31.0.101.4255 behaving on your system? Have you tested the workaround shared by @Steve_NB?

Hello JP117
We are interested in helping with this issue and would like to know if driver 31.0.101.4255 was working for you. Also, please know there are two newer driver versions 31.0.101.4499 and 31.0.101.4502, check if the issue still happens on those drivers.

Hello JP117
I see no further questions on this thread, so before we proceed to close it we just wanted to recommend the following suggestion:
Disable VRR(Variable Refresh Rate) in Arc Control
Go to Arc Control(Alt+I)> Display > Per-Display Settings > Disable Variable Refresh Rate

Hi Hugo,
Apologies for the delayed reply!
I've since gone out and purchased a new main display, and I am not updating drivers to the latest, see if that provides any resolution. The old monitor is having a good life my eldest!
I'll report back with any issues, or with a simple "woo"!

Hi Hugo,
I'm not the OP but I thought I would give this a go for my Elite dangerous screen blanking issue (I'll include a link to my original video of the issue - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rPxKfDsHD79clboHZCI7yIH2DHHqteiT/view?usp=gmail). Apologies for the Police TV show soundtrack in the background!
This seems to fix my issue without having to resort to shift+ctrl+win+b
And of course, if I enable the feature while Elite is running, the issue starts up again.
So still possibly a workaround rather than a fix, as I don't have the benefit of this feature.
Possibly the feature does not work with my monitor?
I notice that on my two office style monitors (60Hz refresh only) this option is disabled - and of course I never see the issue on these monitors. With a single refresh rate I'm guessing the feature cannot work on these.
As I am sure I mentioned elsewhere I see the exact same issue with the more recent drivers without even running Elite, just the windows desktop. Of course I don't use these drivers as Elite won't work with them, but I assume this will work here as well.
I'm guessing more work needs to be done with allowing this feature to support more monitors?
Thanks and Regards,
Steve

Hello Steve_NB
Good to know this workaround fixes the flickering on your game. Answering your question in order to be able to activate Variable Refresh Rate(VRR) on a monitor, the monitor has to be compatible with either G-Sync, Freesync, or Adaptive sync standards. If it cannot be activated on your other monitors most likely they might not be compatible with either of the mentioned technologies.

Hi Hugo,
thank you for your response.
My gaming monitor claims to be freesync compatible, but my other monitors claim no compatibility with any of the standards you mentioned.
So I suppose the question is, is there an acknowledgement that the arc graphics cards VRR feature does not work well with all monitors that claim these compatibilities, and will there be an effort to improve compatibilities?
Best regards,
your favorite awkward customer
Steve
